Zur logischen Funktionalität der Karte kann ich mich nicht äußern, denn ich habe die Karte überhaupt nicht eingebaut. Ich nehme mal an, es hätte funktioniert, mein Mainboard (MSI MEG X399 Creation) unterstützt auf jeden Fall die Aufteilung 16x -> 4 * 4x ("Bifurcation").Allerdings werden auf der Platine so niedrige M.2-Stecker und Abstandshalter verwendet, dass die Installation eines zusätzlichen M.2-Kühlers wegen des Kühler-Halteclips an der Unterseite der M.2 unmöglich wird. (Wie sollte ein Kühler sonst auch halten, Verschrauben mit der M.2 geht ja nicht.)Das Problem des zu geringen Abstands gilt im Übrigen, wenn man die Abbildungen von allen angebotenen Konkurrenz-Karten ansieht, für alle dieser Karten, egal wie der Verkäufer und die "Marke" heißt.(Das dürften alles identische Produkte sein - Rev. 1.2 und 2.1 laut PCB-Aufdruck -, nur von unterschiedlichen chinesischen Händlern als unterschiedliche "Marken" verkauft.)Womöglich haben die Chinesen hier auch nur etwas von anderen Chinesen (Asus Hyper Card) geklaut, dort ist laut Abbildungen auch kaum Platz zwischen M.2 und Platine. Die Asus-Karte hat jedoch einen Kühler drauf, deshalb muss sie auch keinen Platz lassen, um einen solchen zu installieren. (Leider hat die Hyper aber auch einen Mini-Lüfter, was sie zu einem No-Go macht für mich. Gekühlt wird entweder ganz passiv, mit einem anständigen Noctua-Lüfter oder mit Wasser, diese Mini-Lüfter sind meistens der allerletzte Schrott, der als erstes kaputt geht und bis dahin Flugzeug-Lautstärke erzeugt. In meinem Fall handelt es sich beim Kühler um einen Alphacool Wasserkühler.)Für mich ist das Ganze, wie leider oft der Fall, chinesischer "Elektroschrott ab Werk".Mit ein klein wenig Nachdenken hätte auch ein chinesischer Hersteller drauf kommen können, das bei 2 bis 3 Millimeter mehr Abstand der M.2 zum Board solche Probleme nicht auftreten könnten.Dass es anders geht, zeigt die meinem Mainboard beigelegte MSI Aero Expander Karte, die ich eigentlich ersetzen wollte, weil sie mir durch zusätzliche Kompatibilität zu 22110-Format eigentlich zu hoch ist.Dort passt eine M.2 samt Kühler und vor allem Kühler-Clip auf der Unterseite der M.2 problemlos drauf, weil es einen Abstand der M.2 zur Platine von 6 bis 7 Millimeter gibt.Leider gibt es bei den Chinesen nur Konkurrenz zwischen den Händlern, aber keine zwischen Herstellern, da gibt es für vieles nur einen einzigen. Oder einer klaut halt irgendein Design und 25 andere Hersteller bauen dann alle den selben Schrott. Gäbe es echte Hersteller-Konkurrenz, dann wäre sicher einer mal auf die Idee gekommen, dass diese Konstruktion mechanisch blödsinnig ist und hätte es besser gemacht.Die Tatsache, dass man in vielen Fällen eine M.2 nicht wirklich kühlen muss, rechtfertigt in meinen Augen in keinster Weise eine unvollständige/undurchdachte Konstruktion.

Ich musste erst mein Bios updaten, um die notwendige Einstellung für die Bifurcation vornehmen zu können, jetzt läuft alles genau so wie es soll.Ich habe drei 2TB NVMe-SSDs auf der Karte und kann alle drei problemlos ansprechen. Datendurchsatz ist so, wie man es erwartet, alle drei SSDs machen zwischen 3000 und 3500MB/s SeqRead und 1700MB/s bzw. 2900MB/s SeqWrite, abhängig von der gemessenen SSD. Ein Leistungsverlust ist nicht vorhanden.Schrauben sind ausreichend dabei, das scheint ja bei einigen anderen Karten öfter mal ein Problem zu sein.

This is/can be a complex beast to set up – it’s been a steep learning curve for me.I have a strange use case for this card and thankfully it fills it admirably. I’m using a mini-ITX motherboard to build a home NAS. These motherboards, being tiny, have a very limited number of ports. I knew this card merely gave NVME drives access to the 4 PCIe lanes they each require. It also splits the power supply to all 4 of the M.2 slots. I needed some extra SATA ports as my motherboard (Gigabyte A520I AC) only has 4 and I want 10 drives in my NAS. I also wanted a 2.5Gb Network adapter as the motherboard only has a single 1Gb network port built in. I found the M.2 devices I required (on Amazon) that fill these roles.I thought it’d be easy, just plug them all in and away I go … Oh NO! After lots of time messing with the first M.2 to SATA converter, I eventually found out it was faulty and returned it. When the replacement arrived, I continued my quest to get them working – I eventually discovered that there is a BIOS setting that requires configuring: PCIe bifurcation! This setting splits the PCIe x 16 slot into sections. In my case I could only split it into 3.From research into the subject, PCIe Bifurcation support is dependant on the motherboard AND the processor. I can only split my PCIe x16 slot into 1 x8 and 2 x4. This is because that is all my AMD Ryzen 3 4300G will allow. This is apparently a limitation of the Ryzen 4000G and 5000G series processors. The G (or GE) suffix signifies that there is a built in Graphics processor on the CPU. A page I found on Asus’ website listed which of their motherboards would work with a similar (much more expensive) add-on card that Asus produce. If I had a Ryzen 3000 or 5000 series without a G suffix (it doesn’t mention Ryzen 4000 series without the G suffix at all). I would have been able to select 4 x4 bifurcation and use all 4 slots on this board. The new 7000 series AMD processors (they have built-in graphics by default, except the 7500F) will be able to split the PCIe x 16 slot into 4 x4 sections, according to the Asus page. Please remember that this feature also requires support by the motherboard too – some of the Asus motherboards on the web page lack that support and some others obviously have this feature limited. I am happy that I can use 3 of them!I’ve included pictures of the board on my test rig (before I actually put it in the case). It has1. a 256Gb 2230 NVMe SSD in slot 1 (it will be swapped for a 2 port SATA adapter, when that arrives).2. nothing in slot 2, as that’s the one I can’t use.3. A dual 2.5Gb Network card in slot 3.4. A 5 port SATA adapter in slot 4.

Compré la tarjeta para disponer de varios discos NVME en un MacPro de 2009 (early 2009) actualizado a 5.1 y Mojave.Sin problemas, detectó la tarjeta y el disco "NVME Crucial P3 2TB M.2 PCIe Gen3 NVMe SSD".La tarjeta está en el PCIe slot-2 el slot-1 tiene la tarjeta gráfica; ambos PCIe son x16, así que en teoría se pueden conectar los 4 NVMEe. Por ahora he contectado un disco sólo destinado para Windows 11, que con esfuerzo también he logrado instalar.La tarjeta PCIe 3.0 se integra bien con el MacPro (hay que actualiar SO al menos a Mojave y Firmware del MacPro). Pero funciona bien, el disco tiene windows y arranca bien, es silencioso y rápido.Lleva pocos días funcionando, así que habrá que esperar para valorar mejor la compra, pero por ahora el precio/prestaciones está muy bien.Muy recomendable.Ahora me planteo montar un NAS con 4 NVMEe en la tarjeta para un próximo proyecto.

Produkt Funktioniert soweit tadellos. Man muss dazu den PCI-E 16 Slot auf 4*4 Modus umstellen können. Wenn das bei dem Mainboard geht dann können alle 4 Anschlüsse benutzt werden.
