A really lovely and empowering book for women to find their authentic selves and trust their intuition.

Independently of what views you have in certain topics, the book’s greatest takeaway is how to continuously make yourself the right questions to continue evolving. I think it’s a frat read for both men and women even though is mostly marketed as a book for women. Makes a great gift too!

This book was recommended to me by my therapist. It helped me a lot through my depression. The language is comforting and the ideas are very relatable and inspiring.

Un libro de reflexión y crecimiento personal. No te dice cómo pensar, sino qué pensar.

I really enjoyed this book, even though I didn't know the author before and this is a biography. I found everything she's shared really touching and could empathize with her self-emacipating journey of becoming herself - not matter what other people in her life might think. Can recommend this book!

“Sirens wailed. Cars stopped. People looking inwardly in silence.” I just finished reading a newspaper article reporting on this two-minute nationwide Holocaust memorial in Israel. Then I picked up Glennon Doyle’s “Untamed”. Raw. Authentic. No mincing of words. A passionate appeal to find and be the real you. No matter what anyone thinks. No matter what anyone says. Very well written. One of those books where you better have a coffee machine or a few energy drinks close by. Its going to be a long night. Wow. One confident hold your head high woman telling other woman to stop thinking there is something wrong with strong, self-confident women. Stop living like a snail when you’re a cheetah! Tons of real-life hands-on advice from parenting to learning to sit with your pain to iphones to make up to why aren’t you an activist? Gets under your skin. Gets you off the fence.I also love the way Glennon talks about the need to sit and listen to yourself. Hear what you are saying. What your body is saying. And yet, it seems to me she doesn’t go far enough. She insists: “Instead of asking what’s right or wrong, we must ask ourselves: What is true and beautiful?” On the one hand, I couldn’t agree more. As a Catholic Priest I could write songs about how dangerous a “do this don’t do that” morality can be. Why should I go to Church? Because that’s what good Christians do… why should I not have sex in this way or that way? Because its bad. Because the Church says so. Because my religion says so… well, I agree: that’s poison. Because it doesn’t respect the freedom of the person listening. Human dignity and human freedom presuppose that I have recognized a value and then freely choose to live it. But I do so because I recognize it as a value, not because someone told me so. And because I have decided. Not someone has decided for me. So high five, Glennon, on kill the “follow the rule because it’s a rule” mentality. And yes! Let’s look more to what could be and let’s fight for that beauty and that truth. And let’s dish out less dos and don’ts. And yet. The holocaust mentioned earlier wasn’t just “not beautiful.” Nor just “Not authentic.” It wasn’t just ugly in the sense of “aesthetically unappealing.” It was bad. About as bad as it gets. And it was true. In the sense that it really happened. Perpetrated by people saying they were just listening to what they deemed to be authentic, what it meant to be strong, to be themselves. And if I get rid of the “good and bad” who the hell am I to tell them otherwise?I guess what I am suggesting is that deep listening confronts you sooner or later with something that’s not you. Who is not you. And if she or he won’t get permission to challenge me to be a better version of me, well then it’s not God, but just me… and if in the end I'm my own God, were back to the Holocaust problem again… But if God does exist, and if he's made me a freakin’ cheetah, well I would expect him to be untamed as well and not just a projection of me.
