Das Gerät ansich ist sehr gut, nur die Einrichtung der Satelliten ist mehr als schwierig wenn sie nicht im LAN sind, im LAN super, einfach einstecken fertig. die Reichweite ist zwar gut aber ich denke die Angaben sind etwas zu hoch gegriffen, musste mir einen weiteren Satelliten kaufen ( Mit Router 5 ) Die Absicherung durch Bitdefender finde ich gut, läuft auch gut, der Preis pro Jahr mit 140 ist ok, ich hatte ja sowieso Bitdefender und die haben mir sogar mein bestehendes ABO anteilsmässig zurückgezahlt. Kann ich somit nur empfehlen.

Leider kann ich für mich diesem Produkt nur einen Stern geben, da ich einigen Ärger mit allen Aspekten des Produktes gemacht habe:Die Einrichtung: Wie hier schon oft erwähnt alles andere als einfach, auch verstehe ich den Zwang nicht wieso die Geräte immer als Router fungieren wollen, selten ist das Netzwerk ganz frisch und jemand hat nur einen Router der gar nichts tut, leider scheint das aber bei anderen Herstellern auch der Standard zu werden. Was aber wirklich schlecht ist, ist die Einrichtung und Verwaltung der Satelliten. Beim Router gibt es immerhin ein WebUI um auch ohne die App etwas einstellen zu können, beim Satelliten gibt es nur die Möglichkeit sich die Verbundenen Geräte anzusehen, auch ein Neustart nur eines Satelliten ist nicht per UI möglich.Die wichtigsten Netzwerkeinstellung können über die App und das WebUI vorgenommen werden, jedoch sind mir die Einstellung zwischen den Geräten(Backhaul) zu schlecht beschrieben und in letzter Instanz nicht konfigurierbar.Das geht so weit das zum Schluss in meinem funktionierenden Setup der Router meinte der Satellit wäre „Disconnected“ aber das Firmware Update über den Router war für den Satelliten möglich und auch die Netzwerkverbindung direkt am Router zeigte bei den Geschwindigkeiten das er per Kabel verbunden sein musste. Sehr eigenartig und verwirrend, ich vermute er lief schlussendlich als WLAN Access Point was mir recht war aber sicherlich nicht der Sinn des Herstellers laut Beschreibung.Nach 5,5 Monaten keine WLAN Verbindung mehr mit den Geräten möglich, somit sind sie lediglich sehr teure Netzwerk Switche. Es gab keinerlei Indikation von außen für diesen Umstand, wie einen Stromausfall oder Ähnliches. Nach einem Neustart gab es anfangs(nach knapp 4 Monaten) noch tagelang wieder WLAN, aber dieses Verhalten trat immer wieder auf und mit jedem Mal wurde die Zeit die das WLAN ging kürzer bis zum kompletten Erliegen der Funkverbindung.Einen Stern sehe ich bei den Menschen vom NETGEAR Support mit mir wurde immer freundlich und auf Augenhöhe kommuniziert, Tipps gegeben wie ich es selber versuchen kann zu beheben, aber und das schiebe ich auf die Support Politik von der Firma, wenn ich mitteile das bei einem solchen Gerät keine WLAN Verbindung möglich ist, möchte ich nicht hören wir brauchen mal noch ein Debug Log von den Geräten. Das ist mir unverständlich und ja es gibt einen erweiterten Support gegen Gebühr, aber ab dieser Preisklasse( und da gehen meine Befürchtungen an die Leute die sich an die 970er Reihe wagen) habe ich etwas mehr erwartet.Als die Geräte anfangs liegen war die Freude noch groß, aber das oben beschriebene Gesamtbild lässt nur die 1-Stern Bewertung zu und die Geräte gingen zurück, dank Amazon alles problemlos, da defekt auch nach 5,5 Monaten.

After more than a year of having orbi router and 2 satellites, I can say the worst wifi router experience.HW keeps on hanging. Software doesn't recognize login, and I regularly need to reset. The app keeps kicking me out saying forbidden access. Multiple login accounts to manage. Netgear website doesn't recognize my order (purchased from amazon). Support ignore my request to associate my device. Security is payed with annual subscription. Unfortunately the entire experience is bad. Absolutely rip off.

The dream - is fast, solid, stable WI-FI in every room, with not much messing about during setup, and no need to switch from network to network. You are thinking to yourself "I want to just go up and down stairs, out to the shed, down the garden and in the garage on my WI-FI network. I Just want to connect and not think about it" - Well YES, this product will do that.Its fast, and once its working (read on) its really solid, sometimes my devices choose a weird base point to join, so for example, a printer in my office (next to an access point) has decided to connect to the living room base point which is a long way away ... it works its just odd? Can I change the default base station for a device ? No.I do like the guest network settings, so if you have a cafe, or B&B and you want to use EPOS and "private" devices such as laptops, tablets, Sonos speakers for example, then the private network is perfect. Then you can simply create another "guest" network with a different password and give different access to people.The setup was great - (but there is a down side so read on) - This system uses a wizard to set you up, it works and it took the pain out of it. BUT. a big BUT... If you want to play Jazz with it, like fiddle with settings, or do some pro setup of your network then you are going to be disappointed. It does it one way and that it... It works perfectly (mostly) but it's very restricted.Something that is REALLY GOOD, is the switch handling - So I have a load of devices, like Philips Hue, Smartthings, Hive heating, NAS storage boxes, Sonos devices, and the all need a base station type connections somewhere. With a Cable to a router somewhere. So buy a cheap Netgear (or whatever) un-managed switch like "NETGEAR 8 Port Gigabit Network Switch GS108 £25 on Amazon" and just plug everything in, then connect it to a single Ethernet port on the ORBI base station - and wow wow wow it just all works. If you want to tinker and play jazz (read on) you can't - it works but there is no controls you to touch - that might sound like heaven or hell depending on your skill level !It is very restricted to "home users" with kids... The safety settings, and internet restrictions are powerful but pointless if you just trust your family or want "normal" internet. I turned on Parental controls by accident, and when I tried to turn it off I managed to lock everyone (including myself) out of the internet. Support gave me nothing useful (using my phone 3g to access) so in the end I did a hardware reset to factory setting and started all over again. Painful day that was....Not sure I like the Rewards feature of the parental controls - granting "internet time rewards" for good behaviour sound like a house I would not like to grow up in.... but I am old and have no children so I will let you be the judge of this feature.Here is the BIG negative. - Netgear I expected better. - This system is basically only compatible with itself. There are lots and lots of NETGEAR ORBI models and kits, too many to count, and basically they all do the same thing - some faster, some with more concurrent connections, newer models with more whizzy stuff but in principal all doing the same job. EACH SYSTEM IS NOT COMPATIBLE WITH THE OTHER - RBK752, RBK762 base stations and extension points will not work with other Netgear Obi systems - you have to have the exact model from a look up table on Netgears website to extend the system. That has got to be deliberate !I only found out this when I purchased an extra pair of satellite range extenders which looked identical but were not compatible - I Had to return them. BAD NEWS - I could not buy single or even (at the time) double satellites that were compatible with my existing ORBI system- even though it was pretty new, so after only 9 months, even though nothing was faulty with them at all, I had to but this system again NEW because it was the only way to get my hands on compatible satellites to extend the range. BOOoo Netgear.For a system that is supposed to be fully extendable, and totally "capable" of connecting everything together, that's is job at the end of the day, I fail to see why NETGEAR have chosen to build in incompatibility into their systems with no way to join or extend freely from the range.With the benefit of hind site - I should have just paid a lot less for a mesh network, I don't know how much better this is for the money, but I help a friend set up a DecoAX3000 the other day and it was brilliant, at a quarter of the cost. I don't expect that to last a lifetime but I can buy one every two years for a decade for the price of the ORBI !

Vorweg: Wir leben in einem Haus Baujahr 1928 mit 120qm. Unsere „alten“ Accesspoints, die in den vorherigen ~80qm großen Wohnungen problemlos funktionierten, erreichten hier kaum die Zimmer neben, über und unter dem Aufstellort. Darunter auch ein AP von Cisco (wobei diese, sofern man sie nicht in einem engen Cluster verwendet, grundsätzlich nicht das Gelbe vom Ei sind). Ausserdem ist die Umgebung hier sehr voll mit 2.4ghz Netzen der Nachbarn sowie anliegender Firmen.Daher sollte direkt eine Mesh-Lösung mit (auch) 5ghz her, mindestens WiFi6 und ich entschied mich für das hiesige 3er-Pack.Ich betreibe die Orbi hier wieder nur als Accesspoint. Die Installation als AP war (entgegen der Anleitung) alles andere als problemlos, als Erfahrener Nutzer mit den üblichen „Tricks“ jedoch in ein paar Minuten erledigt.Erfreulich: das System kann komplett ohne die in meinen (altmodischen) Augen sinnfreie App und daher ohne Netgear-Account installiert und betrieben werden, nämlich über eine GUI im Browser wie man es seit Jahren gewohnt ist.Zu meiner Überraschung reichte der „Router“ als alleiniger AP nach Installation aus, um im ganzen Haus (ausser im Keller, dort ca. die Hälfte) die volle Internetbandbreite von 150 mbit abzubilden. Der AP steht ziemlich genau im/am Mittelpunkt des Hauses im EG.Zwar kommt auch noch ausreichend Signal im Garten an (Geschwindigkeiten bis ca. 30-40 mbit), die Wände der Scheune sorgen jedoch auf der weit hinter dem Haus liegenden Terrasse für ein kleines Loch. Daher habe ich einen Satelliten in die Scheune gepackt (ohne LAN-Kabel) und habe auch im ganzen Garten die volle Bandbreite. Das freut mich sehr, ich bin nämlich eigentlich gar kein Freund von blossen Repeatern ohne LAN Backbone.Insgesamt bin ich positiv überrascht, das System funktioniert super und ist sehr stabil.Die Übergabe zwischen „Router“ und Satellit scheint auch ordentlich und unproblematisch zu funktionieren.Nachteile:- Das System kann keine separaten Netze für 2.4ghz und 5ghz. Aktiviert man beide Frequenzen (was sinnvoll ist), entscheidet das System nach Qualität/Entfernung, ob das jeweilige Geräte mit 2.4 oder 5 verbunden wird. Durch den Einsatz des Satelliten hat sich das „Problem“ bei mir gelegt, ohne kam es im Garten jedoch öfter zu dem Problem, dass beispielsweise mein iPhone oder Laptop zwischen 2.4 und 5 gesprungen ist, was ab und an zu Verbindungsabbrüchen führte. Dies allerdings nie im Haus, also in der Nähe des AP.Trotzdem wäre es besser, selbst wählen zu können auf welcher Frequenz man sich verbindet.- die Konfigurationsmöglichkeiten sind extrem begrenzt, was mir aufgrund jahrelanger Tätigkeit im IT-Bereich immer missfällt (solange es aber tut was es soll, sei es drum). Hat man besondere Konfigurations- oder Funktionswünsche, sollte man sich im vor Anschaffung einmal die Bedienungsanleitung durchlesen (was beim Kauf derartiger Geräte grundsätzlich neben Rezensionen eine sinnvolle Idee ist)

Il sistema è bello e veramente stabile tra il router e il satellite che stavano a una distanza corretta per il sistema avevo praticamente la stessa velocità e il ping di quando sono connesso via cavo. Purtroppo l'altro satellite andava posizionato un pò troppo oltre le possibilità di questo prodotto e quindi ho dovuto renderlo a causa di ciò: credo che questo sia alla base dei problemi di configurazione iniziale che ho avuto. Avevo già posizionato i satelliti e quello più lontano creava delle difficoltà nella operazione di associazione dei vari elementi. Dopo qualche tentativo tra pressioni dei pulsanti sync e posizionamento dei satelliti in zone "più coperte" sono riuscito a collegare tutto correttamente ed a impostare i dispositivi in modalità access point lasciando al mio router di casa la "direzione" della rete.L'applicazione è carina e fornisce anche degli strumenti utili per capire la situazione della rete in modo abbastanza semplice e chiaro: soprattutto l'analyzer mi ha permesso di capire che la coperta era corta e che non mi avrebbe aiutato nei futuri upgrade di casa. Lo speedtest lo ho trovato un pò furbetto perché dava sempre dei risultati relativi alla connessione del router Orbi al mio router di casa senza indicare da nessuna parte che il test non era riferito al satellite in cui ti connettevi.
