First, the great:* it has separate friction and lock knobs for the ball* The ball head has a panning feature which allows the ball to remain locked* It holds the camera in position easily and securely - even my DSLR with long lenses and a second battery, filters, and flash installed* It uses arca-swiss plates* The included plate has screws installed to prevent the plate from sliding out if the plate retaining screw isn't tightened enoughNow, the flaws:* The panning feature works poorly in freezing weather (heavy grease used during assembly?)* The instructions mis-identify some of the adjustment knobs, which will cause newbies to think it's defective and return it* The instructions do not explain how to properly preset the friction level of the ballhead, which will cause newbies to think it's defective and return it (if you're a n00b, there are great youtube howtos and reddit threads explaining how to dial ballhead friction levels in)* The tripod does not come with adapters for the bottom screw holeBecause these flaws come more down to nitpicking and included instructions rather than the product itself, I'm not deducting any stars in this case; most ballheads include equally crappy instructions.Apart from the heavy grease which makes panning require more effort out in the cold, I'm extremely happy with this ball headThe application I'm using this for is for a gopro mount for youtube videos, but I'm considering ordering a new carbon-fiber tripod from this brand for use with my DSLR as I've long wanted an upgrade, and this product is overall pretty good and solid. I'm also considering ordering another ballhead from this brand to upgrade the ballhead on my current aluminum tripod.

Das Produkt ist sehr günstig. Die Schnellspannplatte ist jedoch relativ klein gehalten, was Gewicht spart, aber zu Lasten der Festigkeit geht. Der kleine Griff ist praktisch und eigentlich der Grund, warum ich diesen Kugelkopf haben wollte. Was aber am meisten missfällt ist die Qualität des Kugelkopfes. Dieser kratzt etwas beim verstellen und die Bewegungen sind oft nicht gleichmäßig möglich. Das verstellen des Kopfes erfolgt mal leichter, mal schwerer. Manchmal hat man sogar das Gefühl, er klemmt etwas. Für mich ist dieses Produkt leider nicht empfehlenswert.

i never had any problems with neewer and also all products from 8 years ago are still working with no issues. I gave this head a try and I was suprised, how well made also this product is. the friction knob was my buy option. it was a good try.

Der Kugelkopf macht einen solide verarbeiteten Eindruck. Selbst kleine Refraktoren von 2,5 Kg Gewicht werden präzise dauerhaft gehalten.Einzig der Führungsgriff könnte etwas länger sein. Trotz allem lässt sich die Kamera gut positionieren.

I bought this to replace the restrictive pan head on my Redsnapper tripod. I was going to buy the redsnapper ball head, but this was cheaper and looked to be very similar in terms of construction. Its a nice solid bit of kit and constructed from thick aluminium, with a nice matt finish anodising. The fit and finish feels great, with no sharp edges and everything turns nice and smoothly. I was very impressed and it looks like it should cost way more than it does. After having a play with it I am very happy with it and it will be perfect for my needs. The ball moves smoothly and allows me to get more creative angles a lot faster. It locks up nice and sturdy and doesn't creep down at all, although my camera and lens is only 2kg, so well below the rated limit.The 360o swivel is nice and smooth for photography, but there are some very slight micro bumps that would probably cause video footage to be a little jumpy. It seems to be just in one place, so you'd still get some bump free panning if you didn't need to go the full 360o. Its to be expected that it wouldn't be perfectly smooth when the price is so low. For ultra smooth panning you'd probably have to pay way more for a fluid head.This ballhead has a larger ball than some of the other ballheads I saw in this price range and also has a separate tensioning knob (smaller) to allow you to adjust the tension separately from the lockup knob (larger). This means when you unlock it, it won't flop down, potentially damaging your equipment. It also allows you to set a constant tension that won't keep changing depending on the tightness of the locking knob. Finally there is a locking knob for the panning, which again isn't always present on ballheads in this price range. There is also a handle, which a lot are missing.All in all I am very pleased with this ballhead and it should serve me well for my amateur photography needs. A very nice step up from the 3 way pan head my tripod came with.

Ich habe diesen günstigen Stativkopf für die Fixmontage eines 500er-Spiegelteles am Stativ gekauft und bin voll zufrieden. Stabil und trotzdem sehr fein einzustellen, geht kaum nach, wie dies andere billige Kugelköpfe gern tun. Der Griff am Stativkopf ist super, er könnte vielleicht um einige Zentimeter länger sein. Preis-Leistung passt voll!

Mit diesem Kugelkopf komme ich nun deutlich besser zurecht als wie mit dem Vorgänger. Nun habe ich drei Schrauben und kann in jede Richtung problemlos arbeiten. Den zusätzlichen Griff brauche ich nicht, da man ja eh die Kamera selbst bewegt und im Griff hat.

Ich brauchte einen Kugelkopf mit Griff, da ich häufig Panoramabilder mache, deswegen habe ich diesen bestellt. Die Verarbeitung dieses Sets ist sehr gut. Alle Teile sind sehr fein verarbeitet. Schöne Handhabung. Anbringen ist super einfach. Es ist wie Schrauben reinschrauben. Man kann den Griff entweder an der linken oder rechten Seite montieren, dadurch ist er für Links-/ Rechtshänder gleichermaßen leicht zu bedienen. Ich benutze den Kugelkopf für meine Sony Kamera und Action Camcorder, das Gummipad verhindert ein Zerkratzen. Es gibt Sperren, damit der Kopf nur in einer Richtung (vertikal oder horizontal) bewegt werden kann. Das ist sehr gut für Videofilm und Panoramafotografien, auch wenn man kein Weitwinkelobjektiv hat, kann man trotzdem ein breites Bild aufnehmen. Eine schnell Montageplatte ist mitgeliefert und erleichtert den Abnehm-Vorgang falls man z.B. die Batterien tauschen muss. Beim Zusammenklappen mit einem Stativ ist der Kugelkopf nicht größer als ein normaler Kopf. Sehr platzsparend.
