I REALLY like this blade.It's made like it is a special build like ones on Forged in Fire. Damascus, fullering, mosaic pin, micarda handle and SHARP.Pick this thing up out of the gift box and it feels like you are picking up a sword. It has a nice weight to it, the grip is on point with the swell on the handle and it puts my old kitchen knife to shame.I washed this right away and was concerned that I didn't feel and edge but that's because it is so sharp. After washing my dishes I saw a clean line into my sponge that I didn't even feel...thank god it wasn't my hand.This is my go to knife from now on!

First off, if you need a knife this big make sure you have somewhere to store it. If you have a log of space above and below a magnetic knife strip on the wall, that would be perfect. Just make sure you have space to grab the handle and lift off, as this thing is stupid sharp.I used this to cut a smoked brisket and though it probably wasn't needed for something like that it worked like a charm. Probably overkill, really. This is best used for a huge cut of meat like beef ribs or working on a half side of beef or pork. It is a great show piece though. It's good and heavy, and like another reviewer said almost like a small sword. The curve of the blade makes it nearly two inches wide from top to bottom, so allow lots of room for storing this, along with the length.
