I installed this printer server on a small home network with two WIN 8,1 and one WIN 7 Laptops.The manual makes no reference to being compatible with WIN 8.1, but I had no issues with either laptop.running the printer server driver.The installation went smoothly and the device performed as advertised.

I'm using this product on my home network to share an HP Laser Printer with two PCs, one running Win 7 64 and the other Ubuntu linux 10.04. The Win setup was a cinch and everything I needed to know was in the quick setup instructions. The linux setup required downloading and reading the appropriate section of the full manual. It wasn't hard, but you need to know the right URL to set in the printer setup dialog and you'll only find that in the manual. Once that's done the product works as advertised and so far is totally reliable. Strongly recommended.

I used have my printers plugged into an Apple Airport Extreme - but the recent updates to the Airport Utility on the mac removing the ability to manage printers on Airport devices make it clear that Apple isn't interested in having printers on their devices - and would prefer that people went and bought new airprint compatible printers.I bought this - expecting some amount of complexity in setting up my Epson Stylus Photo R340 - but willing to put the effort in, to take control of my printers back.In its default configuration the device uses a static IP address ( 192.168.0.10 ) - and this happened to be an available address on my network, so it appeared on the network and was immediately available via http to configure. ( I skipped the whole 'install the CD' steps - as my network is mostly linux based ).It turned out that it didn't need much configuring :- I pointed my CUPS server at it, printed a test page and it just worked.Very happily impressed with how easy it worked out of the box.

Web description states this is MAC compatible. Software is not. Reviews say this is easy to use and install. It is not. The manual is garbage. This product is a complete piece of s***.
