I bought these spools just to have an assortment of colored threads available when I sew. Aurafil makes high quality thread. This came in a great storage container. The colors are beautiful.

I have a rather persnickety sewing maching that I kept having major tension issues with. It's a higher end machine and hasn't been used much, so I assumed it was something that was wrong with the machine. I brought it in multiple times for the same issue and the dealer would tell me each time that the thread quality I was using, which is the standard Coats and Clark cotton or polyester thread found at places like Joann or Walmart, was not sufficient and that I should try Aurifil, Mettler or other such quality. I kept poo-poohing that off, thinking "thread's thread." After the 4th or 5th time bringing this machine in and actually getting ready to just ditch it and buy a new machine, I thought "before I do anything further, let me try a new thread." I found this set on Amazon, loved the colors and did the math to figure out what the cost per spool and yard was. Turns out that the cost of each of these spools was actually quite comparable to what I was paying for Coats and Clark, so I decided to pull the trigger and bought this set.I hate to admit it, but the dealer was 100% correct. I have not had any issues with tension on my machine since making the switch, and the quality of this thread is terrific. My stitches are nice and even, the seams lay flat, and my machine is no longer subjected to curse words and tantrums. It is much easier to thread my machine with this product, and I feel like each of these spools will last me a good long time. I can now be freed of all of those many many MANY random small spools of thread and this set, kept in the box it comes in, helps keep everything clean and organized and not exposed to excess dust.If you're on the fence about the price, don't be. Each spool is 1,422 yards each, which is the equivalent of 3.5 spools of Coats and Clark all purpose @ ~$3 per spool. That's in the same ballpark as these spools are when you go yard for yard. You will not need to buy replacement thread for a long time with this set, and you'll be impressed with both the colors and the quality.

Ive been a quilter for years, and as a result, typically only keep beiges and grays for my cotton thread stash. Since becoming a grandmother, I've started apparel sewing again, and quickly realized that with each new project, I was having to get thread. Aurifil has always been my favorite, and was recommended to me by my machine technician as the thread that has the least "lint" so my machine needs cleaning less often. These colors are the perfect start to build a collection around! Thank you for providing them at a fair price!!
