I'm not sure how this thing gets such great reviews. I have tried two of them and neither one of them even identifies on the USB bus as a device. Everything else plugged in shows up in lsusb output, but this device simply isn't even there.It should show up on /Bus 01->Port 3-> Port 3, just above the first FTDI serial adapter.Even if it were a driver problem, the device should, at a minimum, identify itself on the bus without a driver.See attached screen shot for reference.

APC UPS units require a USB to RJ50 Control Cable to connect the UPS to a computer. I needed a long cable and I'm thrilled to have a 16' USB to RJ50 cable that works properly.

I Have an old APC 1300W UPS and a new Dell Desktop and the communication is excellent with the ups. I recommend this cable to anyones with the same APC to PC configuration.
