Abu Garcia has sent a broken rod, not damaged in transit as box was in good condition.Rod was snapped as photos show on arrival, with a part of the broken rod missing - SO CLEARLY PACKAGED & SHIPPED already broken.I paid ~£59 for someone to pack an already clearly broken rod, with pieces missing and ABU GARCIA to have the nerve to take payment and knowingly send me a broken rod.First time buying from this company & will make sure to stay well clear in future.Will certainly NOT be recommending to other people in future either.Amazon also needs better quality control, sellers are clearly now trying to send broken stock, they already know is broken, trying their luck if someone will take it.Embarrassing for a big brand name to say the least.Not a one off either, I should have listened to other reviews who have also received defective products.False advertising - I have not even got the whole fishing rod (broken or not) what a joke.

Arrived in good time, unpacked and thought it was a tad odd that empty boxes and packaging of other products were included. Loaded line on reel spool, tired swivel and was ready to go. Unfortunately, on first cast the top section of the two-piece rod snapped off.After the outrage and blood pressure subsided, a closer inspection revealed that the rod integrity had already been compromised before use. It had a displaced thin strip of carbon of about an inch, which made it ready to fracture at any bow or twist. Upon reflection, I can only presume that the retailer already suspected the fault. Hence, the box it arrived in was being used for contents that were destined for the local refuse centre.Prospective future buyers; a detailed inspection of the rod is required, and you should return those that arrive with even slight imperfections.
