I decided on a TN Provo after talking with David Giddings from Keiryu Rod Company. David is a great guy and very helpful at answering questions. Some of the areas I fish have deep runs with fast currents and larger trout. I am a big fan of the Provo Rig for my regular fly rod but was really interested watching some YouTube videos with this rod. So I took the plunge and couldn't be happier. This is a terrific rod. The reach is amazing and it can handle larger fish. The casting radius is impressive and the sensitivity is unmatched. You really don't need the indicator since you will feel every tick and bump in the streambed so when a trout takes it, you will feel it. I've used it now on largemouth bass and rainbow trout. It handles fish up to 20 inches without a problem. I'm sure it could do more, I just haven't gotten anything larger than that since I purchased the rod in August of this year. I am thinking of using it on steelhead that come into some really small streams. We'll see... You will need to do a two handed cast if you're fishing all day. But when drifting, you can just use one hand to control the rod if you want. I landed a fat 18 inch rainbow yesterday in a ripping current. The 'bow absolutely crushed a nymph I was drifting and it took off down stream like a rocket. No problem! The power curve on this rod is awesome and I was able to control the fish without walking down stream (couldn't even if I had wanted to as I was at the end of a ledge!). It's a very exciting way to fish and I encourage you to try it out.I also purchased the Ansel from Keiryu Rod Company which is a much lighter rod. But it is not sold on Amazon and you'll have to order direct from them. It is also a great rod and is now my go to for more Tenkara style water. I plan on writing a review for that and see if it makes it to the KRC website. Thanks David for your advice and I'm happy I took it!Mike D.

Experienced a problem with my Keiryu tip (Provo rod). Wrote an e-mail to customer care at Keiryu. David promptly responded the same day. Gave possible recommendations to remedy, unfortunately they did not work. Afterwhich, David responded that would send me a replacement tip ASAP. All this on the same day. This is what I call A+ customer service = prompt and effective. Oh by the way, the rod fishes great. Mahalo from Hawaii...
