I bought this as a spare to keep the water in the slot under the boiler. The manufacturer recommends to fill the boiler on the engine with warm water, all well and good if you are around the house or shed, where do you get boiling water in the middle of a field? I am going to a number of vintage vintage car and farm equipment meetings over the summer and putting my collection of models on display. As there is nowhere to get a kettle of boiling I have to use the first of the Witabs to get the water in the boiler to build up a bit of steam, doing it that way I get about one to two minutes to run the model steam engine. Buying this fuel burner I can boil the water when setting up the model and putting one Witab in the slide I can keep the water hot enough to get a longer running time. Be sure to watch the water level in the boiler so that it doesn't go below the bottom level of the boiler.
