I used this to wire up a dashcam to a 2024 Mazda CX-30. It came with everything shown, but also had a little voltage meter you can use to verify voltage which was nice. The included instructions don't show how to install it into a specific vehicle, so it took me a little bit to figure out: Once you seperate the existing electrical connector to the mirror, a tiny screwdriver (not provided) slides into a tiny hole in the top rear of the mirror's female connector to allow it to be slid off the bracket that holds it up. Then you connect the connectors in this product (thus wiring it in) and use this product's female connector to hold the other connector up against the back of the mirror's bracket to keep it out of the way. Slide the female connector from this product into the bracket that was holding the mirror's connector, and this will keep the other connector against the mirror bracket. Make sure the wires in this product's connector (which will be bent into a U shape) are not extending past any of the flat sides of the bracket assemblies. As for the USB connector, that has to be as far back as possible, "behind" (closest to the rear of the car) the box that says "do not drop". Then, the USB connector needs to be routed through the bracket that is in the very front (closest to the front of the car) such that it is being held against the windshield. You have to position all these products this way otherwise you will not be able to reattach the two halves of the covering assembly.

I picked this up for my Mazda CX50 and it was a perfect fit. It was super easy to install, the hardest part was getting the cover back on and tucking the extra wires in. If I were to change one thing it would be to make the USB adapter a C rather than A. This might make it a little easier to tuck things away if it were just a little smaller. But ultimately it fits and works really well, so much neater than the wire coming up from my dash mounted 12V socket. Now you barely notice the dashcam is installed.

The kit comes with everything you need. There's a voltage tester that's already hooked up on the adapter.At first, I was turning on only the ACC and nothing was coming up on the meter.I thought the wiring was not compatible and contacted the seller.They were fast to answer and gave me some hints and even proposed to send me another customized adapter.Upon further inspection, I noticed that the voltage would read correctly after I turn on the ignition or put in ACC+ (press the start button twice).From there, it was a no brainer. Just plug the adapter and the USB and everything is working perfectly.The most challenging part is to tuck all the wiring inside the cover.

I was quite happy with this dash cam wire tap. I installed this on my 2025 Mazda CX-50 Hybrid with the frameless home link mirror and it worked great. You just need to remove the trim on the left side. You just need to pull hard to the left and it'll unclip. You can use the slight opening in the trim at the top and bottom for leverage. There's a decent amount of space in the housing to store all the extra cables from this. Simple plug and play after you get your housing off. Looks basically like the same thing as the Dongar under a different brand name. 100% would recommend!

Product ordered from the UK and arrived in 6 days. It was a bit fiddly removing the mirror casing but once off the connection was easy and worked straight away. Not a lot of space to hold the wiring and connectors but using a bit of double sided tape. It all fitted. Shame Mazda don’t have a switched fuse in the CX30 cabin but this overcomes the problem with a neat install
