Used 2 of these to measure the current draw of my house. I soldered on an Ethernet cable to the leads so that the Arduino could read them from inside the house. I was able to calibrate the current readings to account for the cable's resistance and now the Arduino and sensors report home current draw on both phases to my home assistant system that logs the data for me.As for why someone would need this? Renting out a building, living on a property with many families and 1 electric bill, just curious about what your home uses? All valid use cases for this product.
