This shifter foot lever is very lightweight. The piece on the end pivots inward on a spring. That's supposed to help it from snapping off incase of a crash. It can be mounted on either side but it is made more for small dirt bikes or pit bikes. It's about 3/4 the length of a normal shifter on a big bike. Its made from aluminum and the main geared piece is painted while the blue foot lever is anodized. It seems like it's made pretty well. The only issue with an aluminum shift lever is the geared part. But since this is shorter & made for small bikes I don't think I will need to worry about the aluminum getting stripped or rounded off. If it's getting mounted on the left foot side the mounting bolt will need to be screwed in from the bottom due to the thread placement in the bolt hole will be located on top of the shifter. It's an inexpensive part that is made pretty well.
