I didn't receive any instructions on how to operate this device but luckily I was familiar with Waveshare products and knew they would have a wiki with software and example code. Search the web for “Waveshare Modbus RTU IO 8ch wiki” and it should be one of the top results. This wiki includes a download link for Windows software to control this device. It also includes all the commands for the device.I picked up a RS485 to USB adapter, also from Waveshare, and was able to communicate with the device on a Linux computer. The default baud rate is 9600 8N1. Note that you will need to be able to send HEX commands using serial, I found the program “moserial terminal” provides a nice graphical way to send and receive HEX data. It is also possible to write a Python script to interface with this device. The wiki includes sample code to get started.I wanted to see what IC’s were used for this device so I opened it up and included a few photos. The main microcontroller is a STM32F030C8T6. The digital outputs use a ULN2803A darlington transistor array capable of 500mA up to 50V. Optical isolators are used to isolate this and the STM32 micro. For digital inputs optical isolators are also used. There is an isolated 5V 1W DC-DC regulator and a gas discharge tube. This design is fully isolated and the circuitry looks nice and neat.Overall this is a great device that I would recommend for anyone looking for isolated digital IO.

Esta es solo mi opinión tras probar el producto. No tiene por qué coincidir con la de otras personas.Este es un buen modulo de E/S digitales para proyectos personales o profesionales. Comunicación por modbus rtu mediante rs485. Amplio rango de tensión de alimentación. Protección en las E/S.

Mittlerweile habe ich einige Geräte von Waveshare und ich bin inzwischen echt begeistert von der Marke. Das Gehäuse ist sehr solide und entspricht meiner Meinung nach sogar industriellen Anforderungen. Es lässt sich ganz einfach auf einer Hutschiene montieren. Der Eingangsspannungsbereich ist mit 7-36V sehr groß und ermöglicht viele Einsatzgebiete. Es gibt 8 digitale Eingänge und 8 Ausgänge. Zudem gibt es LEDs die, Modbus-Datenübertragung (RX und TX) signalisieren und eine separate Status-LED. Besonders sticht bei Waveshare die außerordentlich gute Dokumentation hervor, die man im Wiki bei Waveshare findet. Leider lässt mich Amazon keinen Link zum Wiki in einer Rezension posten, aber wenn man im Internet danach sucht, findet man das Wiki sehr schnell. Dort wird auch das Modbus-Datenformat, Registeradressen, usw. ausführlich beschrieben.Ein Top-Gerät, das seinesgleichen sucht!

Il dispositivo non funziona bene, presenta dei bug. Ne abbiamo acquistati 2 e sono uguali difettosi. non possono essere resettati anche se è indicato come effettuarlo non si resettano ritornando con i dati di fabrica. Abbiamo chiesto assistenza al costruttore ma le sue info non funzionano. inoltre il firmware nuovo non è accettato dal dispositivo. NON FATEVI FREGARE:

Das Modul "Waveshare Industrial 8-Ch Digital Input & Output Module, DC 7~36V Wide Voltage Power Supply, Modbus RTU Protocol, Multiple Isolation Protection Circuits, Rail-Mount Support " wird in einem bedruckten Produktkarton geliefert. Es ist gut verpackt und hat den Transport sicher überstanden.Viele Informationen und Doku findet man im Hersteller Wiki, welches leider erst im Netzt gesucht werden muss, jedoch einfach zu finden ist.Dieses Modul ist gedacht um Digitale Signale von bswp. Sensoren auf zu nehmen, und diese per Modbus weiter zu leiten. Es können aber auch Digitale Signale ausgegeben werden, wodurch es sich auch gut eignet über RS485 bspw. Relays o.ä. zu schalten.
