The screen works great now that I have it running. Getting to that point required me switching MCUs and loading a pre-compiled image that uses a much older linux kernel. I am going to try and get the newer kernel drivers up and running but as of now it is a beast of burden to get that working. Works great once you have it all set up though.

As long as your setup process works, like it should, everything is fine. If you need some more information (in case something is not working) the documentation is not helpful.The touch function of the lcd uses I2C on GPIO 3. This GPIO is also widely used on rasberry pis to build an on/off switch.If you need help, you have to contact waveshare in china via email. It could take several days until they answer. Don't hope amazon support could help you as advertised on this page. They relay you to the waveshare support.I've ordered two of these displays and each time they just delivered it with two short DSI ribbon cables. The other accessories depicted here on the amazon article page are not delivered.

Die Hard- und Software funktioniert reibungslos auf dem Raspberry und das Bild ist toll. Superschaf!Die Lieferung kam schnell und sicher verpackt.Einziger Wehrmutstropfen: Nachdem ich ein Metallgehäuse fräsen möchte, in in das ich das Display von vorne einkleben kann, stört ein wenig, dass auf der einen Seite das flexible Flachkabel so nah am Rand ist. Wäre das Glas 1mm breiter auf jeder Seite wäre es absolut perfekt und es gäbe 5 Sterne.

Binary driver only. Relies on Waveshare for updates. Currently no driver for the current 5.15.56 kernel and no source code available despite modinfo saying the module is GPL.
