📦 CONFEZIONEIl prodotto arriva fornito di:- Modulo HAT a doppio canale CAN FD- Busta antistatica ESD- Viti, distanziali e spacers per il montaggio- Pin header aggiuntivo- Jumper per selezione tra 3,3 V e 5 V e resistore di terminazione da 120 Ω- Link a risorse di sviluppo e manuale online🛠️ MATERIALI E REALIZZAZIONEAprendo la scheda si percepisce subito una qualità costruttiva curata: il PCB è pulito, le saldature precise e il connettore 40 pin si inserisce perfettamente sul Raspberry Pi o sul Jetson Nano. Il modulo supporta sia il CAN 2.0 (fino a 1 Mbps) sia l’estensione CAN FD per velocità maggiori, offrendo flessibilità nei progetti più esigenti. A bordo troviamo un isolatore elettrico fino a 5 kV, protezioni contro sovratensioni fino a 500 W, ESD e cortocircuiti, che riducono significativamente i rischi in ambienti rumorosi o in applicazioni veicolari. Il traduttore di tensione selezionabile via jumper agevola l’integrazione in sistemi a 3,3 V o 5 V, mentre il resistore da 120 Ω è inseribile a piacere per terminazioni corrette. I breakout SPI permettono un collegamento facile con microcontrollori esterni, ampliando ulteriormente le possibilità d’uso.✋ ESPERIENZA D’USOAppena ho montato la scheda sul mio Pi per controllare il cruscotto di un veicolo da pista, ho notato subito la fluidità delle comunicazioni CAN FD: nessun errore dopo un mese di utilizzo intenso. Le istruzioni sulla wiki sono chiare e la dotazione di viti, distanziali e spacers rende l’installazione un gioco da ragazzi. Anche collegandola a un Arduino per qualche esperimento di illuminazione e sensori, la scheda si è dimostrata affidabile e reattiva. Tuttavia, quando l’ho inserita in una rete CAN 2.0 insieme ad altri moduli, è capitato che andasse in ERROR-PASSIVE senza preavviso, costringendomi a un riavvio per ripristinare la comunicazione: un limite da tenere in considerazione per applicazioni critiche. Ho anche ricevuto sul Pi 5 un paio di avvisi di bassa tensione quando la scheda alimentava direttamente il Raspberry, sebbene la trasmissione dati rimanesse stabile. Nel complesso, la sensazione è di avere in mano un componente solido, ma con qualche cautela sui casi d’uso meno spinti.✅ CONCLUSIONIUn’espansione CAN a doppio canale con protezioni avanzate e ottime prestazioni in FD, perfetta per hobby e test, ma da usare con prudenza in reti CAN 2.0 miste e quando alimenta direttamente il Pi.

Placa de programación para 2 canales (encender o apagar otras cosas), super útil y obligatorio tener una placa de programación con 24 pines ya que sola no te va a funcionar!! Si compras 2 puedes apilarlas y usarla para tener 4 canales! Admite hasta 28v de entrada (por lo que viene genial para darle electricidad a 1 tira led de 24v o 2 de 12v!! Lleva protección de hasta 500W y en caso de requerirlo se puede activar una resistencia de 12Ohm que lleva incluida! Ideal si estáis montando una instalación led en casa o un controlador de casa con una raspberry!!

Module HAT de chez Waveshare pour Raspberry PI et autres.Interface CAN et CAN FD qui permet de piloter 2 appareils, style bandes Leds, Mini actionneurs, capteurs et autres.Tres bonne qualité de fabrication, fiable.Un prix correct, de plus la marque est reconnue, gage de robustesse.Infos et description sur le site, internet regorge aussi de conseils et liens.Je recommande.

This expansion module has performed well so far, I use it for dashboard monitoring of rpms before track testing. It adds 2 CAN FD channels and comes with an esd bag, screws, pin headers and spacer bolts. There is an adequate wiki page with instructions. I will update in the future if any issues arise but so far, 1 month after reinstallation, I've had no detectable errors.

I wanted to use this board in a CAN network in 2.0 mode. (No FD) Installation was easy on RPI4 and (later) RPI 5. Testing it at 1Mit by connecting both channels worked seamless as well.However, when using it in combination with other CAN modules in 2.0 mode, the module sometimes works fine and sometimes switches into ERROR-PASSIVE mode immediately. In cases it works, it keeps working with no errors or other problems, until powered down. But if it does not work, only rebooting helps. Unloading and reloading the driver is never successful, neither is bringing the network down and up again... I'll reccomend not using these in CAN 2.0 scenarios.

Raspberry Pi 5 gives low voltage warnings when using the hat for power. CAN communication is fine.

Ich habe das 2-Kanal CAN-Expansion Modul (Rev. 2.1) für Raspberry Pi zum Testen bekommen. Es unterstützt CAN FD (CAN mit flexibler Datenrate), die Geschwindigkeit ist höher als die traditionellen 1Mbps von CAN2.0 und bietet mehrere Onboard-Schutzschaltungen. Das Board wird in einem wiederverschließbaren ESD-Schutzbeutel geliefert und ist sauber gefertigt. Abstandsbolzen, Schrauben und ein extra Pin-Header vervollständigen den Montageumfang.
