I bought this after accidentally finding it on Amazon because it was sponcon that only popped up when I searched “Whalen tv”. I hate the sponsored stuff and usually avoid it. This company didn’t come up with any other tv stand/entertainment center/tv mount searches. Which is a shame because the stand/center is elegant, sturdy, and (sort of) mobile.Items in photos:Wall V5 Low, various stages of build.Large shelf option (top, holds LG Blu-ray)Portable game shelf option (Nintendo Switch tucked safely in, held snug by adjustable rubber mount behind it)Game shelf (Xbox, one of them. The controllers for all gaming are in this drawer. On a soft mouse mat style insert that is included)White cord cover (not Wall’s version)Elegant:*It looks simple once put together, even though I know what visual business is hidden. The front and rear covers hide the cords very well. I like that the rear covers are designed with a gap on the side to put cords through closest to the device. The shelves all get tightened before the rear covers are placed to keep that gap.Stable/Mobile:*The V group is designed to be flush against the wall. The support posts and covers are set to the rear of the nearly 2’ x 2’ base, so my rocking of it didn’t make me nervous at all. Which is less surprising when you are putting it together. Each piece is solid and hefty, even the covers on the front and back, which are just there to hide cords and posts.*These are earthquake tested without additional support straps. Get a wall safety strap if you like, to me it’s stable as is and I only have to keep fluffy critters from climbing as they would exceed the total shelf weight.*The shelves have no wobble, and seem level, but this was a solo install so I didn’t use a level.*Moving it with the handles is not as difficult as tugging my old entertainment center, even on carpet, but this is not a unit you’ll be rolling around to follow you. That’s the A models. Which I thought about, but I like pushing it against the wall, which the A units aren’t designed to accommodate easily.*My V5 Low is sitting on poofy carpet. Just the base out of the box sat very still on the carpet, even as I huffed and puffed to roll it around during assembly. DUM-E, the resident Roomba, cleans over and around V5 with its usual battering grace; no issues with V5.*The cats play heavily every night and show zero interest in climbing the unit. Which is a nice change as the adolescent cat climbs the air purifiers just to get attention.*After a day of thinking the tv looked skew, I turned the unit and put my level on the tv. You can loosen the screws on the tv while it’s on the stand to make the tv level; that is a section of the instructions. No fear my tv was going to face plant. And now it’s level.Build:*I built this alone. The instructions really want two or more putting on the tv, and the shelves, but it can be done by one person. As long as you can lift your tv safely to chest height.*Two mistakes I made during the build I hope you avoid. No damage anywhere, just added time. 1. I put the spacers on top of the mounting bars on the tv, instead of underneath. I had to take it back down and apart, then back together so it is tv, spacer, mounting bar, washer, bolt. Then the tv mounted perfectly into the slots. No wiggle, no wobble. In fairness, no wobble even when I had it on wrong, I just couldn’t attach the locking piece as the protrusion at the bottom of the tv kept it too high to slip into the grooves. 2. I didn’t put the large shelf on before putting on the tv holder. It’s the only shelf that doesn’t have a rear plate bolted on, it’s all one piece. So, remove, slide, replace. Just added time to the build.*Each shelf is held in place by a rectangular piece that is pushed to tension by two bolts. This is where having an extra person can help as these can go on unevenly. Everything in the build has soft padding where it pushes against something else, which helps protect the finish. Very stable, no wobbles, just looks a bit angled on the large shelf that doesn’t seem to be a problem on the shelves with a detachable rear plate.Visually it is so much less stress than my old unit. The white actually blends into the background for me, which helps my small living room not seem as full.I love the unit. They include every possible bolt/spacer/washer option, enough that my 12 year old, 50” LG Plasma tv fits perfectly. And is well under the 110# limit for just the tv. I hung onto the extra bolts, in case I get a new tv ever. Also, the tool packs have easily removed, perforated covers in the cardboard on the back, which also has both a picture of and the letter/number of each part. Brilliant! I’m so used to the chaos of vacuum sealed parts I started by using scissors before I realized you can easily pop off the tiny back piece. It took about two hours to put together, by myself, with time-wasting mistakes. Those mistakes were all mine. The instructions tell you when to add in shelves and show the spacers correctly. Just me. Still turned out great.

I have 3 dogs and I was worried that being free standing there would be risk that dogs or small children could knock it over. But nope this thing is SOLID, metal and definitely will not tip even if I bump into it while vacuuming or if the dogs run by. Get this if you want the look of hanging on a wall but not the headache or holes in your wall.

Whoever invented this TV stand is a genius. It's base has built-in casters yet only is an inch off the floor so that it goes under my entertainment unit. It also has handles behind it so you can easily move it to different locations. (Once you unplug it!) Super sturdy. Much better than drilling holes in your wall in order to hang it on a wall bracket. That would be especially important if you are renting. It is slightly on the expensive side but is well worth it in my opinion!!! Definitely a fabulous purchase!!!!!
