Related to the built in quality of this product there is nothing major to mention besides the fact that it's solid build and the ports fit as expected, but obviously the most important aspect is the functionality which is great.I was able to connect 2 computers(a laptop and a desktop) without any issues or prior experience.Even though I kept this device on for days in a row, it keeps a normal temperature type of product and the performance was still the same.Overall, it works exactly as it should be and for this reason I am satisfied with the functionality and performance.

Switches, I've tried a few, and they are usually well made, metal boxes in black, with exposed screws.Kind of industrial.This switch has a more finished look, so perhaps just better to look at, if you need to.The basic function is straight forward you have two inputs - USB 3 going into the back, one from two separate devices, say a PC, and then an input for a wired switch remote, and there's a USB C power socket if you need to connect say an external drive that needs extra power.The adaptor is not included.Front are four USB ports, also USB 3.0 spec.There's also a switch on the device, on top.The wired remote is convenient if you need to put the device out of easy reach, and the advantage of a wire is that you are not reliant on line of sight for an infrared remote, an issue I have run into before.The disadvantage is the it is a wired remote!That's really it, so you can then swap between devices.So a keyboard and mouse and a web cam and or an external hard drive etc.I have used keyboard and mouse sharing software for years, and I can mouse between two PCs in different OS, as if it is one machine, visually across several monitors.But this requires a connection over my router, wired or wireless.This mechanical connection is then something that can work without this.I think in real terms for me the advantage is in connecting external drives and ancillaries and being able to switch between PCs.In conclusion a useful switch.

I have a ATX Desktop PC and laptop with docking station and a setup at home and I use the same keyboard, mouse and printer on both devices. The keyboard and mouse have RF and Bluetooth so when I going between devices, I need to switch the tabs on both the mouse and keyboard. Doing this day after day makes me quite irritated.This USB switch has solved my issues and it works seemly between devices. It comes with the 4 USB inputs; you need to connect the source to the inputs and you are ready to work. This has made such a difference by allowing me to switch my keyboard and mouse to a different input at the push of one button! You can also change it to be used for a gaming controller as such, as it's quite adaptable. With its many uses, I find it quite helpful.Great quality item that works seamlessly!
