The only downside is that it's SUPER loud. But the benefit is you'll save so much media by using this instead of nothing or a shop vac. All you have to do to recover the media it vacuumed up is open the bottom of the chute and pour the media into a container. It even has a little spring loaded plunger that knocks the media off the filter. As with any of these kinds of products, I might have just got lucky. But I've bought quite a few Vevor products and have yet to get a dud. They actually do seem to make good products that are way cheaper, just like they say.

This was relatively easy to install. It’s pretty noisy and throws media out of the exhaust. I tried tightening the filter retaining nut, and ended up putting a piece of sheet metal between the motor and the blast cabinet.I can’t think of any reason media is getting past the filter element.

Edit: After several months of use I have found that the filter clogs after about 10 minutes. I am using coal slag from Tractor Supply which is very dusty. It is possible that other media would work better. However there is nothing that isolates the HEPA filter. Most dust extractors have a bag that collects the finer particles. With a clean filter it moves 600 - 700 CFM after 10 minutes it moves less than 200 CFM.The spec in the description says it is 75 db. After installing it on my blasting cabinet; holding my db meter and standing where the cabinet user would need to stand, I got 108 db from just the dust Vevor collector. 108 db is loud enough to cause hearing damage. I will leave hearing a muff style protector on the cabinet for whenever I am using it. However, I am concerned that even with the muffs it will be too loud for comfort especially when the noise from the blasting is added. I have not had a chance to see if it actually evacuates the dust yet.

I mounted this to the typical HF cabinet. It replaced a ShopVac/dust deputy setup that worked but lost suction fairly quickly. I use medium crushed glass media.1. Yes, it's loud (wear hearing protection)2. You'll have to clean the filter (Remove it and knock out the dust) after about every hour of use.3. It moves a ton of air when the filter is clean and will suck up media. Dump the media out of the bottom before cleaning out the filter so you can put that back in the cabinet without the dust.4. It's not a miracle cure, it still requires maintenance but when it's working it's a lot better than a regular ShopVac.5. I'm sure the included filter is letting some very fine dust through it, You can tell when it's running. If you are sensitive to that then just wear a dust mask when in use.
