I have been looking for glasses of suitable size to serve concentrated wines - sherry, port, Madera and the like, but for some reason they are difficult to come by in the USA just now. These are just the right size! Not the tiny cordial glasses that ARE everywhere, these are a nice height, well proportioned, and they easily hold a 3-4 oz serving with room for the aromas to develop. They are tasting glasses, or snifters, so the mouth is small to concentrate aromas for "sniffing" and designed for small sips, not gulping - you can get your nose in the glass for the aroma, but cannot get your nose in the glass AND drink, by design. This design feature is not necessary in a sherry or port glass, but it does make these multi-purpose as they can also be used for tastings, brandy, whisky, scotch and other concentrated alcohols. These will do! These are non-lead crystal, they ring - although it is a a high ring, so you must listen to hear it continue. They have lovely delicate looking stems and a thin lip which is fire polished - I did compare them side by side, so note that as these are much smaller glasses than, say the 25 oz glass, due to proportions they may not seem as thin, they are however consistent in thickness with the rest of this Bormioli line. For purposes of comparison, remember these use titanium instead of lead to create the crystal structure, and titanium is much lighter than lead, so if you have used comparable lead crystal, these will seem light by comparison. They are clear, with no discernible color to my eye when held in the light against a white napkin with an all one piece pulled stem, so, no seams. Elegant small glasses for that bit of sherry before dinner or a glass a port afterwards at a price that will allow you to use them often. There are 6 instead of the 4 in most boxes of stemware I've seen of late. These came all intact, and meet the need we have for this size glass, so I am happy.

I love the feel of these glasses. They're sturdy and feel like crystal. But because they're made with titanium, they're not too fragile so you can enjoy them without worry. I've been looking for an 'elegant' alternative to my glencairn glasses and this fits it perfectly without busting my budget. As you can see from the picture, it's almost the same size of a glencairn, only slightly smaller. I would highly recommend these glasses to anyone.

Ich benutze die Gläser sehr gerne. Sie verbinden die Form eines klassischen Clencairn mit der Eleganz eines Stielglases. Die Gläser haben hier und da Unregelmäßigkeiten aber damit kann ich leben. Und das Preis/Leistungsverhältnis ist auch sehr gut.

Ce sont des verres intéressants pour la dégustations d'alcools forts tels que whiskys ou rhums. La forme de tulipe est vraiment adaptée et la largeur inférieure du verre permet un bon contact avec l'air pour diffuser les arômes du breuvage. On reprochera peut-être un pied un peu fin qui nécessite de faire attention à l'essuyage manuel (j'ai cassé un pied de cette façon en forçant un peu trop en torsion).

Ja, wie gesagt, tolle Form aber schlechte Qualität des Glases an sich. ich habe die Gläser zurück geschickt.Mein Tipp, Gläser von STÖLZLE.
