Thicker than i imagined. At the start, it would get untied as i rolled with my classmates, but it stayed more tied longer the more i rolled to get the stiffness of the belt out.Not sure if this is the norm for thicker belts, (i usually received the ones from my dojo and they were thinner)I love the color.

Wow! This belt is rough, tough, and it don't take mess from nobody! LOL. I love this belt! Yes it is stiff and sturdy, but that is why I purchased it. If you get the belt at the proper length, it should be no problem to tie it. My belt stays tied and doesn't come loose any more than any of the other belts I have had (blue, and purple with two different companies). Overall, the length, durability, and style of this belt is exactly what I was looking for! My advice is that when you get it, wash it, then begin twisting it from the ends up to about where you normally start to tie the belt. Do that many times and it will tie much easier.
