I currently have an Ethernet cord attached behind my work desk. I use another one to run it with my personal computer when I take classes. My wifi is not great it seems to handle my classes. Anyway, instead of having two long cords and a continuous unplug/plug scenario; I just plugged this guy up. Giving internet to both systems. No issues with speed or connectivity. Great addition to my set up and comfort.

We're not great fans of Wi-Fi in our household, due to EMF. All of our laptops are connected. Needed to connect a second computer in one of the rooms and found this Uzifhdhi Ethernet Splitter. Easy to install, but it requires a 5V input power. It comes with the USB-A power cable, but not a power block. I like that it comes with a short 3 feet Cat 6 patch cable. Performance wise, I have not noticed any degradation in terms of data bandwidth. Good product.

Unlike other generic cheap “splitters”, this is actually a tiny network switch that can be powered by a 5V USB-C to USB-A connection. It can be powered from the very devices it’s providing the networking to.A Cat 5+ cable has 4 twisted pairs, you only need 2 of those pairs for a 100mb connection. The cheap splitters only split the the cable to (2) 100mb connections, and not all devices support that. You would need 2 of the cheap “dumb” splitters on both ends of your “input” Ethernet connection. These could be considered Layer 1 switches. You’d be limited to 100+100=200mbit total bandwidth. The Uzifhdhi splitter is an actual switch that forwards packets based off MAC addresses. AKA a Layer 2 switch. So you can have what is effectively (2) 1000mb connections through one cable. However, you are limited to 1000mb total throughput across both connections at the same time. For example, if one device is using 800mb/s, the other device can only use 200mb/s. That is still way better than 100+100.This splitter is a lot smaller and lighter than I thought it would be based off the pictures. Testing both ports shows they deliver the bandwidth that’s advertised. They provide a stranded 23AWG CAT 6e cable in the box, as well as a USB C to A cable.

I bought a surge protector with USB in order to make it work.
