received the box, but no filter inside. Just a bag of dirt. Would not risk ordering another

Fits well, quality is great. I do use it over a UV filter, so at anything below 35mm there will be a vignette.

This 6 to 10 stop variable ND filter is very high quality, I tend to avoid variable NDs mostly as they’re generally not as good as normal ND filters due to colour shifts etc, but I found this one to be very neutral despite being a massive 6 to 10 stops.A filter of this sort of strength is useful for video if you want to get a really shallow depth of field in super bright sunlight keeping a 180 degree shutter (1/50), as generally around 6 to 8 stops will allow you to be wide open on a sunny day at 400iso (depending on the day, the lens etc). But this can also be useful for photography where you might want to do a long exposure photo for example. But I would generally get a 2-6 stop and first if you don’t already have one, as this is quite a strong ND filter!I tested it taking photos without it (using shutter speed to compensate) and with it, and found the images to be very comparable in colour across the range of the ND. It also turns really smoothly and is just stiff enough not to get accidentally changed mid shot. All in all it seems to be a great filter, highly recommended!

I bought this to use with an R5 and a RF 85mm 1.2. On their own, this combo is extremely sharp wide open so I shoot at f/1.2 all of the time.My Canon EF to RD ND adapter has spoiled me since there's no noticeable IQ degradation or shift in color (unless you go past the intended max and it's still sharp but with color shift). But of course, I can't use the adapter with a native RF lens so I had to get a filter.I considered getting a B+W filter but their solutions are fixed ND and if I recall correctly, their variable option doesn't go as high at this filter. I want to be able to shoot at f/1.2 in max sunlight and at x-sync with flash so this seemed to be at the sweet spot at 6 stops reduction as a starting point and 10 stops max.I used it for a shoot the first time and there's not a huge sharpness decrease at f/1.2 but I can tell that it's sharp, but also a bit fuzzy. I stopped using it after about 20 shots because I was worried that the sharpness was a bit off but when reviewing the pictures, it looks fine. I do think I would have to stop down to f/1.4 to get some of the sharpness back and I've only used it at its lowest setting so far so I don't know how well it'll hold up at 10 stops reduction.I'm in between rating this 4 or 5 stars and I give it the benefit of the doubt and give it 5 for now. It's not too expensive for what it is and it beats switching filters mid-shoot.
