I've installed the Ice Maker Sensor Control Board for over a month now and so far so good. I'm getting ice again and the control board cost about 10% of the control board from Whirlpool. It was simple to install.

I swapped out both sensors and my ice maker started working again. This is way cheaper than the OEM part. The install was not very difficult, just a few screws and reconnecting the circuit boards to the power wire.The only thing I was nervous about was how the items were shipped. They were in slightly padded envelopes. I would have liked to have seen more padding but the items were not damaged so I guess it worked out ok.

PERFECT!!Functionality - The infrared beam is restored! Ice filled to the top overnight and stopped. Day nine as of this post and no issues.Fit – Perfect fit. The are a faithful reproduction of the OEM parts (see pics). The receiver control board does not interfere with my ice maker On/Off toggle switch. I have a Whirlpool side-by-side just like in the video linked to below.Durability – Unknown long term, but on day nine and so far so good.Price - OEM part kit is around is $230!! Yikes!! I do not expect 20 years out of this aftermarket product like my original OEM but if I get 3-5 it is still a value.Ease of Installation – Plug and play. It is just a matter of unscrewing the boards and unclipping their harnesses. There is a video demonstration of this very control board in a whirlpool refrigerator. This OEM booklet will assist in successfully troubleshooting and diagnosing malfunctions for in-door ice system so you can return it to proper operational status. There are many things that can go wrong. This booklet covers all of them. Replacing the controller boards is just one of the solutions.
