This holder is a Z-shaped holder that has 25 holes for tubes sized to 16mm. There is an alpha-numeric code with letters down the side and numbers across the top so that the individual tubes can be easily identified if you are undertaking scientific experiments. When tubes are placed into the holes they are angled backwards slightly rather than held vertically. The item is as advertised in that there are no sharp edges with all corners being rounded and all edges of the metal being smooth. The holder has a reasonable weight to it which means that you can feel safe that your tubes, or whatever else you use it for, will be held securely and not slide all over the work surface. It certainly seems of a quality to be useful in a professional environment and the fact that it is listed as being safe for an autoclave at 121°C would confirm the professional nature of this rack. However, I got these racks to replace the cardboard test tube holder for my pond testing system and they will certainly be useful for that.

Nice sturdy stainless steel stands. The top corners on one of them were slightly bent - it doesn't affect the use but slightly annoying given the price. The markings 1-5 and A-E could be clearer.

Didn't use them for test rubes, but they hold filler tubes for cleaning. Worked perfect!!
