Right what I have been looking for, from a while. A reasonable price in comparison of the competitors (more expensive, surely other plus and minus features and quality), but with this one, believe me you won't go wrong. I took an S size, I guess was the only available or no, but anyway I am 1.74 tall and slim fit, usually normal clothes shirts etc I purchase the M size. or Slim Fit. I thought it was small when first wore it .... but actually then I found out its more, because of the type of clothing. It must and has to be like, to adhere and stay in place to your body. I have to say, I tested it in an Accident unfortunately had 2 afternoons ago on a Main Lane in Central London, and I have to say, I am completely fine. I would have been reporting some broken something, if not having it, and I can say, 100% DONE its JOB.To buy an item like this for the first time. Just go for it. You won't regret at all.

I am 6'2" 185 lbs. 42.5" chest. Size Large fits very well. Sleeves may be a tad short but the elbow pads are in the right spot.I got this for skiing. After suffering a shoulder injury last season, I wanted some extra protection.I originally got a Demon Flex Force D30 and felt that it really lacked overall/full coverage. My biggest issue with the Demon was that the shoulder pads did not protect well for a head first/forward fall. The front of the should (head of humerus) was really not protected and the pad seemed like it was more likely to be pushed back than to protect the shoulder. Demon Also lacked coverage onto the top of shoulder.Back to the drawing board, I looked for armor/padding that seemed to have better shoulder coverage and still work well for my application - skiing. The Troy Lee seemed to have the best overall shoulder coverage (front and top included) of anything in the category for my purpose. I also like that it really has padding/coverage almost everywhere where many competitive products had large areas with no padding/protection.Overall, the Troy Lee fits well, is comfortable and I am happy with it. I would probably get again and have recommended it to a friend. The shoulder pads do protect the front and top of the shoulder well.I would say the main trade off for the Troy Lee vs other products is that the Troy lee is lighter to moderate padding but is has coverage almost everywhere. The more critical impact area pads are a beefier with a harder pad laminated to softer padding against the body. The lesser impact areas are a pretty lightweight padding - not sure that they provide a lot of protection. The elbow pads are super solid. The abrasion resistance of the fabric also seems a little disappointing. I have worn it maybe 7 or 8 times and it is showing some abrasion/pilling on the back, chest, and front shoulder areas. I am wearing this under a fleece so it is not rubbing or catching on anything. This would make me concerned about durability if worn on the outside - like for mountain biking or motor cross and snagging on brush etc...It is a little tricky to get on and off (would really benefit from a zipper). I would like to see it with a little heavier padding and some D30 padding in critical areas. The padding could also stand to go a little lower on the abdomen and back. These upgrades would probably take this from really good to awesome.I have not crash tested it yet so can't report on that. Sorry :)

I ordered this very reluctantly as it seemed to me that TLD was just capitalizing on their name recognition to sell just about everything 2 wheel related, but I could not find another product that seemed to meet my requirements as well as this.I've been very surprised; the shirt is really protective while allowing almost entirely unrestricted movement. It's a bit difficult to put on and I'd strongly recommend wearing something thin underneath to allow easier removal when sweaty.I've been riding with this in cool weather and it hasn't been too hot to wear but that may change when it gets hot again. I won't have to worry about that for months!

I use this item for both mountain biking in the summer and snowboarding in the winter. This winter, I've been on ski slopes 30+ times out west in all different terrain (and lot of tree runs) and have worn this protective shirt (I call it armor) almost every time. First, I'm 6'0", 175 lbs and bought a size Large. It fits well under my ski jacket. The only drawback is that sometimes it 'rides up' when sitting on the ski lift, pressing the chesst pad under my chin. But, wearing 'armor' can't be perfectly comfortable. I have no problem with the rest of the pads... including the heavily padded arms. The shirt provides pads all around, including the back and spine. For snowboarding, the elbow and forearm pads are probably the most useful and some of the other pads may be 'overkill'. But, it pays off for bigger, less likely crashes (either collisions with other skiers, hard unexpected falls (especially on ice) due to catching an edge and/or tree collisions. I clipped a tree on a glade run in Crested Butte and was HAPPY that I was wearing this shirt. The tree hit my hip and chest and I credit the shirt for protecting my ribs nicely (just wish it covered the hip, as I hairline fractured my hip with that impact). For mountain biking, ALL the padding is useful (if you've ever been thrown from your bike). I'm 44 years old and am hoping to keep biking and boarding for a long time... this shirt has and will continue to help me stay safe. I'd recommend it highly. If you're accident prone and/or just want to know you're being safer, it's a good investment (a lot cheaper than going to the ER).

I wear this for off road dirt bike riding. I originally wore the Medium, was a little too tight in the chest and arms, switched to a large and it's much more Comfortable. I am 170lbs, with a 40" chest, meaty arms. Wearing this with a cotton undershirt is most comfortable, I also wear a jersey over the top, even in 90+ degrees with some airflow it's fine. Have wiped out a few times and this shirt totally protected my elbows, arms and shoulders. I also wear the Troy Lee padded shorts.
