This playpen was super easy to put together. it took me just a few minutes to do it. It is actually pretty sturdy. The metal poles connect to hard plastic joints. It is lightweight and easy to move. It has a canvas material that covers the bottom and all the sides. It has a string for you to tighten the canvas around the top. Two sides are screen to allow for more ventilation and so you can see in and see your pet and they can see out. The top of this is wide open. I liked this playpen, and for the price, it's a great deal. But, it is NOT for medium or large dogs. This is meant for very small dogs. I am using this right now for a litter of kittens that are less than a week old. This is actually perfect for them. This playpen is definitely on the small side. Again, this is only for very small critters. There is no top cover, so your pet can easily jump out. Great price for this.

I am REALLY surprised with this tent. I got it to serve as a brooder for some ducklings (though the fake chickens in my review pictures will have to do as stand-ins until I actually get more ducklings), and I am really excited to use it.Pros:Durable Frame – The structure consists of steel tubes with plastic joints, making it notably sturdy and more resilient than cheaper alternatives. I am thoroughly surprised at how sturdy this is at its price point considering I tried an alternative springy "pop up" hex tent last year that was both WAY more expensive and WAY less sturdy than this one.Quality Material – The outer fabric is a thick, tough canvas rather than flimsy nylon, giving it a more premium feel. The inside of the fabric is sealed with some sort of plastic or waxy material that seems to make it waterproof and, I'm guessing, will help with durability.Easy Assembly – The design is straightforward, with each piece being uniform, making the setup process relatively simple. It's so simple, instructions are practically unnecessary, which is refreshing after I've used other tents that had a ridiculous number of parts for a simpler design.Smooth Finish on Bars – The metal parts have a polished finish, preventing rough edges or potential hazards for pets.Lightweight – Despite how sturdy the frame is, I am really impressed that the manufacturer managed to keep it extremely lightweight too.Height – The tent has some decently tall walls, and the fabric stretches over the top a bit which would help contain any little critters inside to keep them safe. If you, like me, plan to use this for ducklings or chicks, it does seem tall enough to keep them from jumping out, at least for the first few weeks of their lives.Cons:Poor Stitching on Mesh Windows – The stitching is done on a raw edge without a hem, which could lead to fraying or tearing over time. I can't help but feel like the mess windows on this were an afterthought. All the stitching is really well done with proper hems, except for the windows that look like the fabric panels were cut out after the tent was made, then a bit of mesh was just slapped on with a basic running stitch. I haven't put these to the test because I feel the stitch could easily be picked apart and the mesh pulled out. Be aware of this if you plan to use this tent for anything critters that might be clever enough to test the mesh.Zipper & Drawstring Quality – The zipper itself is lightweight metal, but the zipper tape is plastic and feels mid-quality. The drawstring mechanism is also finicky, requiring manual adjustment to properly tension the fabric. This tent design would probably benefit from having 2 or three drawstrings evenly spaced around the edge to make sure everything is pulled taut.Difficult Cleaning – The lack of a secondary liner means cleaning requires washing the entire tent rather than removing an inner layer, so if you want to avoid that, I would recommend buying a secondary liner to go with this tent.Final Thoughts:Overall, this pet pen is a solid choice if you’re looking for something more durable than the typical nylon options. The steel frame and thick canvas provide reliability, though the poor stitching on the mesh windows and minor design flaws prevent it from being perfect. I would give this a 4.5 if I could, but because of its other qualities, I'll round that up. If you’re okay with these trade-offs, this tent is a great option.

I got this play pen for my new puppy so that I would have somewhere safe to put her if I couldn't keep an eye on her. Turned out that I didn't have to use it as much as I thought but she LOVED this play pen. It has a zippered section that you can unzip and roll up so that pup can get out of the play pen on their own. I tend to just leave it up now and she goes in to rest of just play with her toys. It's become her little safe place to unwind and relax and for me that makes it well worth it to have. It was super easy to assemble and the fabric on this playpen is very easy to clean up if your pup has accidents in it. It's very lightweight but surprisingly solid. Even if she puts up a fuss (with her panel closed), it's still very solid and can't be turned over from my little pup jumping up on it.

I got this playpen for a new kitten that I adopted in order to keep her separated from my other dog and cat while they get introduced. It was super easy to install and didn't even need instructions. The poles definitely make it a lot more sturdy than a typical pop-up tent type situation which seem to be the other option. I also liked how it had a door which I questioned why it would need a door when the top was open, but it ended up coming in handy when one of the kittens jumped out we flipped the unit upside down and use the door as a way to get them in and out without allowing them to escape. I don't know if I would recommend this for puppies of a big dog breed so pay attention to the size because they will likely be able to jump out but for a small dog I think it could work well.

Instead, it turned into a stage for his prison break auditions. Spoiler alert: he nailed the part.Let me start with the good. It was shockingly easy to put together. I blinked and the thing was done. No tools, no frustration, no need to question my life choices. It’s lightweight, which is great if you want to move it from room to room or carry it around like a soft-shelled turtle. The fabric is easy to clean, and the mesh sides give you a nice little peek into what your pet is doing, usually plotting escape.Now, why am I not throwing confetti and shouting from the rooftops? A couple reasons. First, portability is a loose concept here. Yes, you can technically break it down and carry it, but it’s like trying to pack a cloud into a lunchbox. You’re left trying to improvise something using the cloth like a sack of oddly shaped puzzle pieces.Second, and more importantly, there’s no top. None. Which means your pet only has to be slightly motivated or possess functional legs to leap right out. My pup figured it out in less time than it took me to say “good boy.” If you’ve got a kitten, chick, gerbil, or extremely lazy ferret, you’re golden. But for anything with ambition or even mild athleticism, you’re gonna want something with a lid.So overall, it’s fine. It’s not bad. It’s not great. It’s like a fast food burger that looks good in the picture but falls apart as soon as you pick it up. Functional if your expectations are low and your pet is smaller than your average throw pillow.
