It is funny, I am not a formally trained pool player, but learned from my best friends dad growing up and I remember getting my first cue. We would spend hours at the pool hall and so many times I would miscue the ball because the chalk was basically not sticking to the tip of the stick. Well, gone are those days and holy cow this is some nice chalk! I never thought there could be such a big difference but it really is. First off is the presentation in the magnetic metal case it comes it, you open it up and greeted with this beautiful pink-ish color chalk. Applying it to cue tip is what it felt like being Michaelangelo painting the Sistine Chapel. This went on so smoothly and no flaky mess at all. The chalk definitely had some holding power compared to stuff I used in the past. I know the $30 sounds crazy, but if you're on the fence or think this is over the top, trust me, buy it and you won't be regretting or returning this.

I'll be the first to admit that I was put off by the color of this chalk. After all, why does it have to be pink? It easily could have been blue, or green, or any number of other colors to match your table's cloth.But no, they went with pink.Now, I think I understand why. Once you look at this chalk, you realize there is something both distinctive, and special about it. The simple fact is, as far as I'm now concerned, there is no longer any other chalk. This is the one.It's simply better in every way. It performs better, goes on better, doesn't leave dust, or residue. Best of all, it plays superbly, and if it can improve the playing of someone like myself... then it really is special.This chalk applies better, and stays on your cue better. It won't get all over your hands. I happen to wear a black billiards glove, and I no longer see chalk dust on it.Yes, the magnetic all-metal case is brilliant, and yes, you won't be able to stop playing with it. Oh, and yes, everyone will be asking why you're using pink chalk.Don't tell 'em.This is the best you can get, and though it's a tad pricey, it's worth every single cent. Toss out all your other chalk, because you'll never use it again.Outstanding product. I'm a fan.

For starters, just the metal case by itself is on par for the price. Add the chalk to it and this is very well worth it! I play pool several times a week and have tried a number of chalks, and would definitely rank this in the top 2. It goes on thin but stays sticky and even for several shots, perhaps only needing to reapply once per game. It also felt to me like my English was somewhat increased, though most will say that is entirely down to skill. Either way, I was happily satisfied and impressed with the quality of this chalk.

This review is for the "TP7500 | TP Chalk 7500 | TurningPoint Professional Billiard Pool Cue Chalk Pink" that I ordered via the Vine program.I've recently been using the Taom v10 chalk and I must admit, I'm smitten. Many of the newer chalks on the market are significantly more expensive than the old reliable Masters, but they offer improved performance in many areas: tip retention, less dust and mess, less frequently needing to chalk, and overall consistency.When I saw this chalk, I decided to get it for a friend on my pool team. It's priced Like the Taom and other newer chalk formulations and advertises the same list of characteristics that make up the newer chalks' increased performance. Honestly, this chalk is even a bit more expensive, but it does come with a really nifty case for transporting and protecting the chalk between uses.I've found this chalk to be similar to the Taom in most of the important ways, but it seems to be a bit more wet or clay-like when going on. This consistency doesn't affect how well it sticks to the cue tip and how little chalk transfers to the balls or table. I'm very pleased with its performance, however, I did notice that the chalk seems to be getting used up faster than my Taom, and at this price, that is definitely worth noting.During play, I can't really tell the difference between a cue chalked with the Taom V10 and this chalk, so choice really comes down to cost over time and availability. Looking at the Turning Point store on Amazon, I only see it available in gray and this pink. It's only available as a single cube and always with the aluminum and magnetic chalk case. Since it's about $10 more than the equivalent competitors' chalks and it seems to wear down the cube a bit faster than the others, I can't really justify the pricing just for the cool case.Would I buy it again? I definitely like the performance of the chalk, but I don't think it's price-point makes it competitive after the initial purpose. I mean, how many of the cases does one need? I'd like to see more colors and optional availability in less expensive packaging; don't do away with the case but have the option to purchase without it.
