Although the capacity stated as 0.8lt, if press is used, I can only shut the lid with quarter of the capacity!

I just finished fermenting my first batch of sauerkraut in this press container, and it was so much easier and less stressful than other methods. I never had to think about whether my cabbage was staying under the brine, because I could see that the press was holding everything in place. There were no instructions with this, which is the only downfall, but it really is pretty simple to figure out. Shred/slice your cabbage, mix in the correct amount of salt, wring it, mash it, generally abuse it until the juice flows. Then put it in this container, lay a few full cabbage leaves over the top to keep everything from floating up, and twist the knob until the plate adds enough pressure to keep the brine well over the top of the cabbage. It is a little bit pricy, but not too bad, and the peace of mind is worth it. Nothing spilled out or erupted, and my sauerkraut is pretty amazing, if I do say so myself!
