In my mind these only serve as a deterrent from theft because of the slight increase in time that it would take for a thief to steal your belongings instead of someone else’s. Think “you don’t outrun the bear, just the person behind you”.The locking mechanism feels cheap, I feel you could easily break these open with a flathead screwdriver. There’s a single wire cord through the centre of the cable, could be easily cut through with bolt croppers.These are perfectly fine for securing a load for travel on domestic roof racks but I wouldn’t rely solely on these if theft is your primary concern.

I have spend a few years with the nylon straps and had alot of ussues with them sliding loose. Then I bought another brand with the locking feature. The other brand was slightly less money but the straps were stiff, had sharp fibers and hard to use. I am glad I finally bought the Thule straps. The straps are smooth and flexible so very easy to use. Totally worth it.

Easy to use and very reliable product. Used it several times during a road trip to secure my race paddleboard. The straps are long and the locking system works well! Would definitely recommend

Well built but hard to manage any leftover strapping because of its core. Both the 10 ‘& 12’ were too long to manage. Ended up returning both sizes for normal Thule 9’ straps and added my own MacGyver lock system.
