The books did not came in the good condition but it was not bad either though the packing was inappropriate. As for the story thus volume marks the end of the original storyline of the sandman. Ending was unexpected but as you read till the end you end it on a very satisfactory note. One of the best story ever read

The Kindly Ones” (issues #57-69) is the climax of the entire saga which spans 75 issues. Things come to a head in this story arc, with many characters that appeared earlier in Books 1 and 2 popping up again for the finale.“The Wake” (issues #70-75) ties up many loose ends, and in my view the ending is satisfying. The art panels in the early chapters here employ pencils instead of ink, and muted colours are used. This style is very effective as it establishes a sombre mood that is entirely appropriate given what had transpired in the preceding story arc.In the final issue (#75), I do believe Dream really wanted to get out of "it all" (i.e., walk away from his responsibilities) way back in the early 17th century, despite his mistaken belief that he cannot. But in the end (in "The Wake" story arc), Dream does learn that things can and do change.Ovid's Latin quote "Omnia mutantur, nihil interit" appears in issue #74, which means "everything changes, nothing perishes" ... it is a very apt quote given how the saga concluded. And then there is Hob Gadling's dream towards the end of issue #74 ... (perhaps Dream did take up his brother's [i.e. Destruction] advice in the end). It is a good closure. And maybe Dream had planned this all along?Having read all 75 issues, I note that the plot lines (some of which continue across story arcs) are well-planned and executed. Minor characters are creatively used to propel the storyline forward. I wonder if Neil Gaiman had conceived the entire story right from the beginning (adding additional details as and when necessary) or did the story develop and unfold gradually along the way?Regardless of the answer, the Sandman saga is an excellent and unforgettable story. I thoroughly enjoyed this story and recommend it without reservations. It thoroughly deserves all the accolades it has garnered.

Beautiful, glossy books, a great read. Absolutely hate The Netflix promo label on all my favourite books, so I get stickers to cover them from Etsy.
