As a homeschooling mama of 9, this game is right up my alley and I was happy to get a chance to try it out. We played it for the first time last night as a family (my kids that participated were ages 3 to 15) and everyone had a lot fun! It was quick and easy to "assemble" (basically just punching out the cards and markers) and all of the components felt very high quality ... not flimsy cardboard at all. The colors and designs are beautiful and engaging. Game play is simple but also flexible. The way we did it was that I acted as caller. I would draw a state card (just had them mixed up in the lid of the box), say it and show it (for the younger ones who can't read yet), and then everyone would take a minute to find if they had it on their board. While they were doing that, I would flip to that state in the little booklet and read the fun facts included about it. The first person to get four in a row (horizontal, vertical, or diagonal) and yell BINGO got their first pick of treats that we had in the middle of the table. Then they kept playing (but didn't get another treat if they got another four in a row yet), and the next person to get a BINGO got their pick of the treats. We did this until everyone had gotten a treat and then kept going (since everyone was having fun!) and the first person to get their whole board covered got first pick on the second round of treats, etc. I think playing this way took us about 45 minutes, which is a very reasonable and enjoyable time for a game, in my opinion. There was no frustration or upset, even with the various ages involved, and we all learned some interesting things about the various states. In my opinion, this game was an all-around success for our family! I highly recommend it, and I think it would make a wonderful family gift! It is very adaptable for time, circumstances, family size, age ranges, etc., which is hard to come by!

This is a fun game to help our kids learn about the US geography and states. Every state is represented well and we've played a few times to help them learn.

I ordered this game because of the cute colorful artwork. I already had a book published by the same company with similarly-fun artwork. The box is made of thick sturdy cardboard, and the artwork on it is semi-glossy, with added 'spot UV' high-gloss coating in key areas.I was surprised to see that the box has no sealing of any kind; the lid is only held on by friction. Inside, first there is a rulebook, then a stack of thick punch-out sheets of components (star tokens, and the states to draw), then the bingo cards, and then a bright reddish-orange cardstock tray with a fabric drawstring bag inside (intended for holding the states to draw). You'll have to come up with your own bag for the star tokens. It is a straightforward bingo game, primarily designed for calling out the state names as they are selected. The difficulty and educational level can be increased by the caller instead calling out facts about each state from the provided booklet, making the players guess the state. Each card has a 4x4 grid of spaces, instead of the traditional 5x5 bingo card design, so there is no center 'free space'.
