A relatively lightweight barcode scanner that does what it says it will do. I tried reading a few different types of barcodes. It read the UPC barcode on several things had laying around the house. My original reason in picking up this device was to read a few Target gift cards that I had at home. I was trying to match gift card numbers to the receipts and to track them in a spreadsheet. It read the Target gift cards without any issues.In my testing, the only barcode that it did not read was the serial number barcode on the back of Apple Air Tag box. That is something that the L5100Y Laser Bar Code reader also by Tera could read. Perhaps the smaller laser beam on that model is what makes that work compared to the light beam on the 1500C. I have both and kind of tried reading the same thing with both.Overall, it seems to read a multitude of bar code types without any issues. Something like this would be useful if trying to log a music or DVD/Blu-Ray connection. It could make easy work of reading UPCs into some of the software programs out there. That reminds me that I need to go scan the discs I bought back in 2023, and I will use this scanner to help.

Feels very light and cheap but it does the job.. We use for student ID badges and it picks up very well. It does not work on mobile device scans which is a huge thing and there for 3 starsfair priced

I tested this sucker in various lighting conditions and on the most beat up barcodes I could find. It was really good at reading them.The only things that gave it pause were:1. A faded barcode that had a narrow stripe it couldn't read. (I had to be really careful where I aimed it for it not to find the code, though. Just a relaxed grip was enough that it scanned it promptly, just not as fast as normal for it.)2. Dumping obscene amounts of light (>1k lumens, which was enough to dazzle me, too) on the surface made the relative angle of the surface and the scanner very important to get enough contrast for this to read. If you intend to use this outside at noon in the tropics, be careful to slant the surface away from the sun, first and you should be fine. It pretty much had to be shining right into the optics to foil this thing.3. A double barcode on the back of an OReilly pocket sized book only read the larger UPC barcode and I couldn't get it to handle the smaller one. Not sure what the problem there is. It sort of runs into the other, so I suspect that.That's it.Some people will want a scanner that it untethered, and that's reasonable, but at a station, this sucker is an excellent choice. Keeping a wireless scanner on hand while using these primarily seems a very good idea to me. If longevity turns out to be a problem in a few months, I'll circle back and update my review, but the build feels solid and it works quite well.The only other limitation that I can think of is that this is a 2d scanner. Of the 2d barcodes I tried on it, only that short 5 digit one failed. The UPCs, shipping labels, and some various security codes from some old MS products all worked fine. This is as easy as plugging into a std USB port on a devices that supports the USB keyboard drivers. What is scanned comes in as a string.Default has a carriage return at the end and reads beep pretty loudly, but the book that comes with has codes to scan to configure things to your needs. It's all quite straightforward.

It's 2024, we have no excuse to be unorganized with the amount of technology available to us. I got this to catalog my hundreds of books and... it's perfect! We went from books to now cataloging pretty much everything in our family (pantry items, clothes when we get them so we know exactly how many of each thing everyone has, even using barcodes to track what we've purchased for Christmas!!!) Highly recommend if you'll use it, and now it's a kid's toy until we need to take it back to add something to our spreadsheet.

Unbrauchbar wenn man mehr benötigt als eine Googlesuche nach erfolgtem Scan. Kein Support wenn man darum bittet zu unterstützen bei der Einbindung in ein gängiges Lagerverwaltungsprogramm. Für gewerbliche Nutzung unbrauchbar.
