Tenba DNA Kamera-Umhängetasche

This is a very nice bag but I found it too small even for a Nikon Z5ii, 2 lenses including the 24-70 F4 S and a basic kit. Returned and replaced with the Think Tank Retrospective 7.

This bag is great and made really well. But I returned it because it was not big enough for my use. If you need a small bag just to throw on your shoulder, this one is great. If you want a smallish Messenger bag get the 13. And get the 16 if you want to put so much stuff in there you get tired of carrying it. I love these Tenba DNA Messenger Bags! I have had the 16 slim (for a few years) for my Sony A7 stuff and it's great even fitting my 200-600 (sort of). I wanted to stop switching functions with my DNA 16 and get a stand alone day bag for normal use not specifically camera related. So I looked at the 13 and the 9. I went with the 13 for my second Messenger bag. I can use the camera core to just take the 24-70 but I really want this just to have my Every Day Carry stuff organized like I like it.

Review is for "Tenba DNA 9 Messenger Bag":Build quality appears to be pretty good. Good material, well stitched together. You get weatherproof cover with it, but from what I've seen, I'll be more than sufficient protection from rain and snow on it's own. I particularly like big flap design that goes slightly over the main compartment also at the sides of it, protecting it from the elements.It's big and sufficiently spacious for my needs, and it is well padded. When removable insert is in, It can pack Fujifilm 70-300mm at the side, and XT-5 with XF 16-80mm attached, two of my largest lenses. Both are not cramped together and easily accessible. If 70-300mm is attached to the body, cover will just close when camera is put in top down, and I could put next to it two lenses as well, one on top of the other. On my Olympus m43 system, it can do body with lens attached and two to four lenses, depending on size of lenses. My main use will be just a body with one lens attached to it. Switching between two lenses, will be comfortable as well, anything more, will be impractical.Now for the bad: One star off for the price. One star off for strap and no zipper on main compartment. One star off for velcro fastener on the flap.In advertisements they tout "nearly silent", patented "whisper hook closure" for opening flap. It does it's job as advertised, what they don't tell you is that opening flap is secured with big velcro fastener. It is extremely loud when opening the bag, completely voiding "whisper hook's" touted silence. I'm confident that I could scare half the forest's animals away just by opening it. At this price point you would really expect magnets or something quieter. Also, main compartment is secured only with mentioned flap and velcro, it's of good quality, and feels sufficiently secured, but a zipper on it as well, would be welcome. I found that it helps a lot having camera zippered in in a secured compartment in freezing and windy conditions. Next, bag strap is fixed, and can not be removed. It could be removed on older Tenba DNA 10 bag with clips on strap, but here it's completely fixed. I thought that I could cut it along the plastic hook and replace it with a custom strap, but plastic hook is only on one side of the bag, on the other it's completely stitched to the bag (see pictures), and would require more serious modification.All in all, a well build bag with a few annoyances. Don't be discouraged by the rating, I'm well pleased with it. I bought it knowing most of the deficits ahead of buying it. Only real surprise was that it doesn't have a hook on both sides of the bag. That and no zippers on main compartment are just obvious cost cutting manoeuvres, and worth noting. I bought it to be used with a body and one lens attached. I have Mirrorless Mover 20 for use on my Olympus system. It's just jarring that that bag has features that are missing on this one. Detachable strap, with ability to use it as a fanny pack, zippered main compartment, magnets on the flap. But it's also worth mentioning that the maker of that bag, doesn't offer anything at the precise size of this bag. All their bigger bags feature some defects, so after careful deliberation it went with this one for my XT system, and so far I'm happy with the decision.

Tenba is a great bag for smaller mirrorless cameras and small lens. I like the design with the exception of the fact that they have two snaps at the bottom which even though they say are easy to do one snap would be more beneficial especially since it’s backed up by Velcro
