Really smart and does what it’s meant to do, protects wall around board from dart damage. Grandson requested it for his birthday and over the moon with it. Favourite player endorsed and Amazon had it at a competitive price
Super

This is a handy surround which can be attached to any competition-standard size dartboard. In reality, the difference between competition quality and beginner-quality dartboard is usually in the board material itself, and not the size, which is usually a standard 45.1cm. So if you have a 45.1cm dartboard, or thereabout hopefully this should fit. This item, manufactured by the Darts specialists Target, is part of a wide range of Luke Littler darts merch, designed in association with the hugely successful Warrington player. Still a teenager himself, he's probably quite well plugged in to what your average teenager wants in their bedroom darts set up and the colour scheme and catchphrase certainly work for seventeen year old darts fans with a dramatic twist! The surround itself is made of an "Active Reflex Polymer" - I'm not sure what that means exactly. What I can say is that it does catch darts when thrown, it dampens the sound (slightly) and any holes that do piece it are not super-noticeable - this is helped along by a clever beehive-type hexagonal print effect. This surround clips onto the edge of the dartboard - not onto the wall itself - so make sure your dartboard is secure enough to cope with an extra 2kg in weight added on.The surround gives about a 12cm buffer around the dartboard, so there's a bit of extra leeway if you are a beginner, just not very good (me), or trying to score those wayward doubles.I would be lying if I said the surround solved all my problems as I am often more than 12cm off target in the first place! But it does save the wall for the worst of the potential damage. At £49.99 the cost is quite substantial for something that doesn't specifically add to match play or improve your game. However, redecorating the wall costs more so it depends on how you measure these things! It does come in a large colourful box that would work for gifting and it would look intriguing under the Christmas tree if wrapped up.Four stars.
