As an old school network engineer, I was raised with terminating fiber with crimp type connectors that contain optical gel. They're expensive, especially when I have to waste two or three to get a single good connection. Preparing the fiber for termination or splicing is tedious, neatly cleaving and polishing the ends. The Suwolf High Precision Fiber Optic Fusion Splicer Machine is an extremely affordable tool for making professional quality fusion splices. It works with all the popular fiber types and literally has everything to prepare the fiber. The built-in screen magnifies the fiber and check the face of the fiber. With a short heating time of 15 seconds for the heat shrink, and splice time of 8 seconds, you can turn out a lot of splices in a short time. By fusion splicing the connectors instead of my manual crimp, I've reduced the signal loss tremendously, so I can get the best use out of my fiber with minimal attenuation. It comes in a portable carrying case along with the fiber cleaver, jacket stripper, etc. so you won't forget anything. It's easy to use, with the instructions on the LCD screen guiding you. At this price you can save enough in connector loss and time using other techniques to pay for itself fast. If your shop runs fiber, this will revolutionize your productivity.

I wasn't sure what to expect with this budget priced fusion splicer. The package was unassuming, the size is small, and the instructions fairly basic. After some testing, it performed well enough to recommend for basic telecom tasks or home fiber networks. The core alignment, which uses two CMOS cameras, managed to align fibers consistently, even across different types. It’s compatible with a decent range of fibers. The automatic splicing and heating functions worked as expected, with splices taking about 7 seconds and heating around 15 seconds, though times vary slightly. The unit itself is compact and light, weighing just over 3 pounds with the battery, very easy to move around and store. The 4.3” display is clear enough for outdoor use, and the battery lasted through a full day of work.Speed-wise, the FS37A’s 7-second splice and 15-second heat times are respectable but slower than top-tier models, which can hit 5–6 seconds for splicing and 9–12 seconds for heating. For large-scale or time-sensitive jobs, that difference could add up.Overall, it’s a functional tool that gets the job done at a fraction of the cost of higher-end models. It’s not perfect, but it held its own for basic splicing tasks.

Its LCD touch screen is easy to operate, the screen is large enough, the display is clear and intuitive, and the menu design is reasonable and easy to use. Even if it is a first-time user, you can master the operation steps. The fusion splicer supports a variety of fiber types, including SM, MM, NZ-DS and EDF fibers. This compatibility is practical and suitable for handling diverse project requirements. The fiber cutter it is equipped with is also very professional and precise, which greatly improves the efficiency and success rate of fusion splicing. If a fast charging function or a backup battery is added, it will be more suitable for long-term field work.

The addition of a touch LCD screen improves the convenience of operation. The screen is responsive, the display is clear, the interface design is intuitive, and the autofocus function is intelligent, which can accurately locate the end face of the optical fiber, thereby ensuring the accuracy of the fusion splicing and greatly reducing the time and error of manual adjustment. The built-in fiber optic cutter is a thoughtful design, which can ensure the flatness of the cut optical fiber end face, thereby further improving the fusion splicing effect. Whether it is single-mode fiber or multi-mode fiber, the device can handle it, with fast fusion splicing speed and stable connection quality, suitable for high-demand network cabling, communication and fiber optic maintenance projects. The device itself is designed to be rugged and durable, which is very suitable for carrying and outdoor use. However, due to its diverse functions, it may take some time to get familiar with it when operating it for the first time. In addition, the fusion splicer and cutter need to be cleaned and maintained regularly to ensure long-term stable operation.

First of all this machine aligns fiber cores perfectly. Second, it takes less time than my old machine to heat up and melt the glass. Third, screen is huge and way more better than manual machines. Highly recommended.
