The unit turns on and measures temperature but unfortunately the wind cups don't turn so the main feature [anemometer] doesn't work. Returned for a refund where Amazon excels with their service.

Very simple and intuitive to use. Seems quite accurate . Quite robust and easily fits into the hand. The tripod screw is a nice touch. Wide range of units can be selected plus max/min recorded. Would have given 5 stars but one of the battery terminals was rusty! Does not effect it's function so I didn't see the need to return it but this should not have passed QC.Update: came to use the tripod screw and there is no thread!! Poor, so downgraded this to 3 stars

This is a good anemometer. Comes with the required batteries and even a screwdriver to install them. The backlit display is large, clear and easy to read. The top mounted compass is a nice addition, as is the optional tripod mounting facility. OK maybe not the highest quality scientific device available, but perfectly adequate for the sorts of outdoor activities my family gets involved in and at a reasonable price. Happy.
