Ihr Warenkorb ist leerDexter Fletcher leitet diese filmische Adaption des gefeierten Bühnenmusikums mit der Musik der schottischen Band The Proclaimers. Davy (George MacKay) und Ally (Kevin Guthrie) kehren von ihrem letzten Aufenthalt in Afghanistan nach Hause zurück, nachdem sie die Schrecken des Krieges aus erster Hand erlebt haben. Während Ally seinen Vorschlag an Davys Schwester Liz (Freya Mavor) plant, fällt Davy in Yvonne (Antonia Thomas) und die beiden Paare kommen rechtzeitig zum Hochzeitstag der Eltern von Liz zusammen, aber nicht alles ist einfach in Leith nach Liebe segeln...

I have not seen, or had even heard the songs that the movie used from THE PROCLAIMERS. I am from the United States and ordered a copy of the film through Amazon. It would not play on my DVD player (which really is an XBOX 360 anyway), but it DID play on my computer. So it would be great, for the film to be more easily distributed in the States, but you can still order through Amazon and find a device to play it on (in my case a laptop) if you are really determined to see it in the US. I found out about the film, by being exposed and watching other work of Antonia Thomas who plays Yvonne in Sunshine on Leith. She is very brilliant and talented, and her work is the most I've enjoyed an actress's since Ellen Page (more Page's early stuff than now). And I was surprised (yet not overly surprised - via the skills she displayed in other things I had seen her in) that Ms. Thomas's singing ability is as stunning and talented as the rest of her. The rest of cast was great too: George MacKay, Kevin Guthrie, Jane Horrocks, Peter Mullan, Freya Mavor, etc., they were all wonderful. The songs were very catchy and beautiful lyrically, and the pacing of the film was very well done in addition to the rest. All the actors did a splendid job singing and acting. The story itself dealt with all the familiar themes of love, circumstance, illness, age and even touched on war - and how people interact and cope with each other and those trials along the way. But the mood was light, and heart filling - the lyrics and singing hopeful and filled with love. As others have said, it was just a feel good, well done, love and fun filled piece of art, that is worth anyone's time who has time to watch, and doesn't mind a little singing with their movie.

No es edición USA sino edición Reino Unido (UK) Preferible en sonido (DTS HD Master Audio 5.1 ch 48kHZ entre 3.5/4.5 Mbps) en caso de verla con home cinema, mucho más consistente y lleno de detalle , a la edición blu-ray española (que es audio Dolby Digital,aunque en la caratula ponga DTS HD Master Audio) .subtítulos en inglés opcionales. Sin embargo, extras solo trae escenas eliminadas mientras que la edición de españa trae 20 minutos de como se hizo,trailer.. Yo compré la española y ahora la UK por el mucho mejor audio

スコットランド出身のバンド、プロクレイマーズの楽曲を用いたいわゆるジュークボックス・ミュージカル(映画)。スコットランド版「マンマ・ミーア」とイギリスでは絶賛された模様。元曲を書いたプロクレイマーズは正直、恥ずかしながら、ほとんど知らなかったのだが、楽曲がいずれも素晴らしい。”I'm on my way”,”Over and Done with”,”I'm gonna be(500 miles)”などは、スタンダードとなり得る（もうスタンダードかも）魅力のあるキャッチーでノリのいい曲。舞台はエディンバラの一角、リース（Leith）という街だが、エディンバラの美しさも良く描かれていると思う。俳優陣はほぼスコットランド出身者で固められており、英語もスコットランドなまりを十分堪能できる。また、ストーリーも目新しさはないが、その分説得力はあり、個人的にはマンマミーアよりは、納得できるプロット。若手俳優陣の歌も中々で、特にイヴォンヌ役のアントニア・トーマスのソプラノには聞き惚れてしまった。

Wer die Stadt Edinburgh liebt (oder lieben lernen will) und mit der Musik der Proclaimers (500 Miles) etwas anfangen kann, sollte sich diesen Film unbedingt anschauen. Es ist im Grunde ein Musical, aber ich - selbst kein Musical-Fan - finde, dass die Musik sich sehr glaubwürdig in die Handlung einfügt und es im Großen und Ganzen nicht so wirkt, als würde jemand in einer x-beliebigen Situation anfangen zu singen. Musik: toll. Darsteller: sehr süß. Panorama: unvergesslich. Mein Geheimtipp, ich werde auch noch mehr bestellen, um sie zu verschenken. Nur mit schottischem Englisch sollte man klarkommen, weil (noch) keine synchronisierte Fassung zu haben ist.

I love Edinburgh, Scotland, and with this film being shot there (Leith is the port district of the city), how could I resist the opportunities to see the streets and buildings of that wonderful city! Though the premise of the story - young soldiers returning from war to reunite with their loved ones - may sound serious, there is a prevailing seam of joyful fun that runs through the story from start to finish. Indeed, possibly it is that fact that the genuine folk of Edinburgh and the music of Scots band The Proclaimers (the 'Sunshine on Leith' title is from their hit album) are so much fun that one can't help but feel a part of the celebratory vibe that closes out the film with a huge cast singing and dancing to 'I Would Walk 500 Miles...'. Oh yes, there is a bit of a musical theme to the film, with the occasional break out into song (all Proclaimers tunes), but don't let the term 'musical' deter you, because this is anything but a stiff and staid music.If you're curious, watch the trailer(s) on YouTube. Der Film ist einfach genial ein "just feel good" movie. Das auch nur im Originalton. Wer Edinburgh kennt , die Music von "The Proclaimers" mag , der wird den Film lieben .Die Darsteller sind super , die Musik ist gut eingebracht , ich bin begeistert.Man muß den Film einfach auf sich wirken lassen .Leider finde ich den Preis in " €" überteuert , daher habe ich mir die DVD weitaus günstiger in UK gekauft .
