Nice box, but had to do some pretty severe mods to make it fit the Raspberry Pi 4 quad core I purchased. It has USB-C and micro-video connectors. None of the I/O, like USB, HP jack, Video and power jack matched the box, and the interior is a pretty tight fit. Had to do a lot of custom cutting modifications which left some pretty large openings where the original access holes were offset to the actual I/o's on the PC board. No screws to mount PC board included either, and these are hard to find unless you have some 2mm self tapping laying round. Then when I strapped the case onto the battery pack, the strap's velcro hook section (the one that latches to the strap material) simply pulled apart from the strap, so strap became worthless as well. Not impressed.

I really like the material this case is made of!I ended up placing a reyax ry836ai module (GPS+AHRS) below the raspberry pi board and screwing antennas above the board. (just because ipads without cellular module don't have a proper built-in GPS and you lose your positioning at above 1000 feet)I only had to use pliers to remove cable holders and bend the suction cup mounts slightly and that's when I fell in love with the material. It doesn't crack, instead - it bends!Fans are loud, but you can't really hear them while inside a cockpit. As for the risers - I had the same issue as some of the other reviewers mentioned. They were not even out of the box. Heated up a knife and shaved off the very tip of one of them and my board now fits in perfectly and the case closes up without any gaps. This is the only case I tried for stratux and I don't see a need to try another one.

This is my favorite case for building a Stratux. I have built a few for myself or for friends. This one fits all the modules, plus two fans, and comes with all sorts of mounting options.BUT you need to know that it is not the standard case. It won't fit certain accessories (like the suction cup mount sold by the Stratux store) and it won't fit ADS-B antennas with a cable less than 5" long (like the antennas sold by the Stratux store... the 978 antenna absolutely will not fit at all.) You'll need to get the SummitLink USB radios and some different antennas, I recommend the NooElec antennas with 6" cables (there will be a bit of excess cable that you can tuck into the case). Also, as some of the other reviewers have mentioned, this one isn't the sturdiest and thickest piece of plastic in the world. None of mine have broken, but also I haven't used a lot of force while building them. Be a bit careful and don't break off the tabs and such while taking it apart and putting it back together. Finally, don't forget to install the strap! When I build these I seem to always forget to install the strap to the inside of the case, and then I have to open the whole thing back up just to get the strap in there. The strap is really useful for holding your battery attached to the Stratux. You can use the little rubber feet to keep the battery off of the case itself so that the battery isn't heating up with the case.

Seems well thought out. Fitment compatibility with all the current features for a Stratux setup to include a new thin usb for the second fan so you can still run an internal GPS with no fitment issues. The only problem I had with this case is immediately upon receiving it and opening the rear most compartment to install the raspberry pi, the top part of the case broke its clips that hold into place on the bottom half. The other issue is that it doesn't even include the 4 screws to mount the board to the case. I wish they would redesign the case so that it screws together rather than clips. I do find the sliding door to the USB slots super convenient and helpful.

LONG TIME STRATUS USER. I love that it is larger than the original case and the second one I tried. I feel like there is more room for the air to circulate.I upgraded my SDRs to the nice ones with those big heat sinks. The problem is the fit over the USB fan. The heat sinks are just too big. I moved the fan to the side and it still works. Someday I’ll glue it in.This is the black one. It looks very sharp. Much sharper than the white case. The temps appear to be the same or less than the old case.Worth every penny.
