They sound fine and are very sleek, but the brushes don't like to stay out. After a minute of play they start slipping noticeably. I would recommend regular wire brushes instead.

I've used Pro-mark sticks for over 30 years so it's only natural I would give their brushes a try. Thicker, sturdier, and inspiring to lay down a firm country snare rhythm.

POSITIVES- Build quality is very good.- The thickness of the stick is very nice, especially if you have larger hands.- They feel good because they're heavier than most brushes, which is nice for certain types of music.- The rubber handle feels great.- These brushes have a smaller footprint than most because they don't have that metal handle thing that's used to retract the wires. With these ones you just push the wire material back into the handle. It's honestly one of my favorite things about them.- They do what you expect. Since they're heavy nylon, you get a bit more power and a little more projection from them than you do with metal brushes.- The nylon is smooth enough and thick enough that you could play them on a mesh head, which is not possible with metal wires / brushes.- These brushes are very much in line with the high quality that you'd expect from ProMark. You're dealing with a reliable, recognized company.NEGATIVE- I don't completely trust that if I bring the wires halfway out that they'll stay put. That might be due to the nylon material being much smoother than metal wires would be.WORD TO THE WISE- These are more like a special-use type of brush. They sound different from the classic metal wire ones, so I personally wouldn't use them as my main or sole set of brushes.
