The lens is lightweight and well-built, which I really appreciated. However, the image quality leaves something to be desired—it’s not particularly sharp, though I could live with that. The real dealbreaker for me was the minimum focus distance. At nearly one meter, it’s just too far, especially for a 35mm lens where getting close to the subject is often essential. In my case, that limitation made the lens unusable, and I ended up returning it.

j'adore cet objetcif, il a de la personnalité, le flare est un peu prononcé mais magnifique, il raconte une histoire peut importe la scene ! Et de plus il est ultra compacte et à petit prix (699 €)Par contre mes petits points négatifs :- Focus manuel (franchement j'adore le charme et le rendu du focus manuel, ça ne me dérange aps tant que ça mais ça lui enlève un peu de flexibilité pour certains shoot)- Flare un peu trop prononcé à mon gout mais magnifique- Et ce n'est pas du cinemascope ;( obligé de croper en post prod mais c'est le jeux vu le prixBref je l'adore ! mais mon idéal serait un full frame 1.33 x avec autofocus en dessous de 1000 €

Die anamorphen Charakteristika sind bedingt durch die Brennweite nicht sehr ausgeprägt. Das Flairverhalten ist gut kontrolliert und die neutrale Färbung passt sich der Lichtquelle an. Leider ist die doch große minimale Fokusdistanz und die nicht so gute Lichtstärke die Kehrseite zu dem sonst fantastischen Objektiv. Es ist leicht, scharf und lässt sich gut bedienen.

It's an amazing lens, no doubt! You will find everyone say this on a hundred different youtube review videos. Here's one thing no one will ever tell you, unless you decide to make this an investment for life, buying this lens is probably a bad idea. If you switch systems, for instance, it's close to impossible to find an enthusiast who will take this one off your hands (no camera shop will either buy it), so you can make the move to the different mount system. Unless you have a bag of free cash lying around, think long and hard, before hitting that buy button! 1000 odd bucks is a lot of money! All the best!

For those of us who are passionate about anamorphic lenses and the cinematic quality they bring to footage, the SIRUI Saturn 35mm T2.9 1.6X Anamorphic Lens for Sony EF is a piece of equipment that's hard to overlook, despite its steep price.The 1.6x squeeze factor of this lens is a technical marvel. When shooting 4K footage, you get a resolution of 3840x1350, which is not standard. But here's the magic: it gives you the horizontal field of view equivalent to a full-frame 22mm lens. This means that while your footage has the characteristic anamorphic compression, you're not losing the wide-angle perspective that's essential for grand, cinematic shots.Size-wise, this lens is impressively compact, especially when compared to its larger Sirui siblings. It's almost hard to believe when you see it side by side with, say, the 50mm (as shown in the picture). This makes it an incredibly portable option for filmmakers who are always on the move.The oval bokeh produced by this lens is nothing short of lovely, adding that sought-after, dreamy, cinematic look to your background elements. And let's talk about the lens flares – they're the crispy blue that anamorphic lenses are famous for. However, they can be quite pronounced, which might not be to everyone's taste. For those who find the effect too intense, I'd recommend pairing this lens with a Black Mist/Fog filter to soften the sharpness and tame the flares a bit.Regarding the aperture, a T2.9 on this lens is roughly equivalent to an f/2.8 in terms of light-gathering capability. It's a common misconception that T-stops and f-stops are interchangeable, but T-stops actually measure the actual light transmission, which is more accurate for cinematography.In conclusion, if you're looking to bring that anamorphic charm to your footage without lugging around a massive lens, the SIRUI Saturn 35mm T2.9 1.6X is an excellent choice. Yes, it's an investment, but for the quality and cinematic flair it adds to your work, it's an investment worth considering. Highly recommended for the anamorphic aficionado!

Sono da sempre affascinato dall'effetto cinematico che solo delle lenti anamorfiche sanno dare: formato panoramico e "flare" orizzontali; per questo ho deciso di acquistare le lenti anamorfiche SIRUI per M4/3 da montare sulla mia Lumix G90. Risultato?! TOP!Fisicamente sono costruite in solido metallo, completamente manuali, sia focus che apertura, ma nella confezione sono compresi gli anelli in plastica per avere più grip nel settare le lenti o, eventualmente, montare poi un follow-focus (da acquistare a parte).Luminosità molto buona avendo come massima apertura f/1.8.Il fattore di squeeze è di 1.33, non elevatissimo ma abbastanza per ottenere dei filmati in formato panoramico.Ultima chicca i flare orizzontali tipi delle lenti anamorfiche: sono di colore blu/ciano ma mai esagerati, quasi invisibili in condizioni di buona luminosità; diventano evidenti quando si puntano fonti di luce direttamente verso l'obiettivo.Vivamente consigliate se volete ottenere l'effetto cinematografico delle lenti anamorfiche senza spendere un capitale.

Questa recensione è relativa al modello Saturn 35mm in fibra di carbonio.L'obiettivo è bello ma ha una ghiera del fuoco durissima e - visto che gli obiettivi anamorfici aumentano di suo l'effetto distorsione del rolling shutter- ad ogni cambio di fuoco corrisponderà un sobbalzo che rovinerà i filmati. Anche con fuoco motorizzato la forza necessaria è così forte che comunque anche fisso sul treppiedi si noterà il rolling shutter.E' difficilissimo mettere a fuoco anche con monitor esterno ed in più da la lunghezza minima di messa a fuoco è 1 metro quindi dovrete mettere e togliere un filtro close up ogni volta che vorrete avvicinarvi un minimo al soggetto.La lente è molto distorta come molte lenti anamorfiche ma il tipo di distorsione è particolarmente fastidiosa perché non è "a botte" ma "a cuscinetto" con la parte centrale risucchiata.I riflessi tipici dell'anamorfico sono poco presenti e solo con luce estremamente forte in condizioni di contrasto elevate. Se confronterete le immagini di una lente vintage sferica (che si trova a pochi euro) tagliata in formato anamorfico e la confronterete con quelle realizzate da queste obiettivo, queste ultime appariranno molto più distorte e di bassa qualità.La mia domanda è quindi: se la qualità dell'immagine è inferiore ad una normale lente da pochi euro, quale è il senso di complicarsi la vita con una lente di questo tipo? Un flare occasionale quando si punta un flash al buio? Spendendo 1.500 euro?

Eigentlich sehr gutes Objektiv, tolle Optik, imposanter Anamorpheffekt und neutrale Streaks (Flares)...dann kommt aber das "aber". Zumindest bei meinem Objektiv ging der Fokus sehr schwer, was ein feines Fokussieren erschwerte bzw. unmöglich machte. Des Weiteren war mein Exemplar betroffen von relativ starken Fokusbreathing (ändern der Brennweite je nach Fokusabstand).Ging daher zurück.Ggf. gebe ich dem guten Stück später nochmal eine Chance und bestelle es mir nochmal. Eventuell hatte ich ja ein Montagsmodell. Denn für Schärfe, Gewicht, neutral Flares gibt es aktuell, in dem Preisrahmen, keine Alternative.

Ich hatte das Pech, ein Sirui-Objektiv auf Amazon zu erwerben und ich rate dringend jedem ab, das gleiche Schicksal zu erleiden. Die Qualität des Produkts war unterirdisch, mit sofort erkennbaren Mängeln, die die Funktion und Haltbarkeit stark beeinträchtigten.Der Kundenservice war ein Alptraum. Keine hilfreiche Unterstützung, ineffiziente Antworten und eine offensichtliche Unwilligkeit, Probleme zu lösen.Überspringen Sie Sirui und sparen Sie Ihr Geld. Es gibt definitiv bessere und zuverlässigere Anbieter auf dem Markt. Glauben Sie mir, Sie werden dankbar sein.

Anamorphic lenses have always been a dream of mine to shoot with and when Sirui released their 50mm I had to get it and was impressed with that lens all round.Now we have the 35mm and its just fantastic as I can shoot wider shots with amazing characteristics. Being 1.33x should not put people off as you get the blue flares and the bokeh is really nice (there are mods if you want to get that perfect oval look)The big surprise with this lens is how sharp it is at F1.8 just like the 50mm.I have MFT cameras so this really helps to add a dimension to shots and I have ordered the 24mm to add to the collection. If Sirui make a wider lens then 24 then that will be perfect to get truly scopic shots all the way.I will say that you need a camerea/monitor that can de-squeeze the image as well as the right software if you're just a beginner but many editing programmes de-squeeze easily.If you're a photographer this lens will add a unique look to your photos just like the great Dick Sweeney has done, and if you want to create videos with a cinema look and can get only one anamorphic lens stick with the 35mm.Top notch lens all the way and Sirui have set the bar high and I am sure more anamorphic lenses will hit the market.
