Bottom line, I recommend the PH-20 over the PH-10. Here is quick comparison between the PH-10 and PH-20. It’s worth the read.I have tried both in the last month (Dec 2024) with a Nikon D780 and AF-S 200-500 f/5.6.Both the PH-10 and PH-20 are well made, sturdy, and with excellent fit and finish.For quick review, to balance a gimbal head, you want to start with your lens/camera bottomed-out (0cm position) on the gimbal arm with the gimbal rotational axis equal to or preferably above the lens center line. Find your initial longitudinal center of gravity (CG), and then move your rig up in adjustment to find and fine-tune the HORZ/VERT positions that allow for balance at any given tilt angle.On the PH-10, I could achieve horizontal balance. However, I could not balance the PH-10 throughout the full tilt range of the gimbal because the length of the PH-10 gimbal arm is not long enough, at least for my setup.On the PH-10, there are only 5cm of movement below the horizontal axis (the scale reads 0-5cm). Because my lens/camera combo is fairly high due to the 200-500 lens foot design, I could not lower the setup enough to create the moment arm needed to take full mechanical advantage of the gimbal design physics. I needed more than 5cm of vertical adjustment.However, the PH-20 works flawlessly. Because there is 8cm of gimbal arm length, I had no problem getting perfect balance throughout the full range of tilt travel. The PH-20 comes with a 120mm Arca mounting plate which allows for plenty of room to find the fore-aft CG.NOTE: I think the Amazon picture shows an older PH-20 design with only 6cm of gimbal arm adjustment. The one I received, as well as what is shown on the Sirui site, has 8cm (0-8cm scale) of adjustment. It is better to have a bit too much than not enough room for adjustment. My setup balances at about 6cm below the pivot point (2cm on the scale) on the PH-20. This is why I was unsuccessful with the PH-10. That said, you may very well have success with the PH-10 and your setup.Another general consideration for gimbal heads: With zoom vs. prime lenses, as the focal length changes, so does the CG. I simply noted where to line up the Arca plate on the mounting base depending on a couple focal distances. I find I don’t need to change the height on gimbal arm. You can also just pick a happy medium if you don’t want to adjust the plate whenever you change focal length. It will still work fine but with a bit lesser balance precision.As stated, the quality and value are there with both units. My only knock on the PH-20 is the tooth locking mechanism for panning. On the PH-20, I can’t perceive much panning friction – it’s essentially locked or unlocked. However, it pans very smoothly without being too loose/tight (for me) and doesn’t hamper my tracking ability at all. I read about this design on other reviews and feel it’s not a showstopper, especially for wildlife tracking. The PH-10 panning and tilt knobs both allow for friction adjustment while still providing plenty of tightness. I appreciate the safer PH-20 design but wish there was an option to adjust friction.If you are new to gimbal heads, search for “How to Balance a Gimbal Head” by Steve Perry or many other excellent tutorials. Once you get a gimbal head dialed in, you will really love it for certain types of photography.I hope this helps.

A great gimbal at a reasonable price, it’s very well made and super smooth, I love the locks on this they are like half a turn from full open to lock so it’s easy to snap on and off lock when needed, handles and balances my Z8 and 180-600 no problem at all, overall the best gimbal I’ve had and a big step up from the cheaper options.

Um es kurz zu machen, der Stativ Kopf an sich funktioniert top, so wie man es sich wünscht. Leider muss ich zwei Punkte abziehen, da bei der Endkontrolle wohl ziemlich geschlampt wurde. Fast der ganze Kopf ist mit einer sehr klebrigen, harzartigen Paste verschmiert. Sie kommt vermutlich ursprünglich aus den Drehknöpfen (wahrscheinlich eine Art Montagepaste). Man bekommt sie kaum ab und auf Carbon will man ja nicht mit zu aggressiven Reinigungsmitteln arbeiten. Ausserdem ist die Aufbewahrungstasche von innen auch voll damit, sprich der Kopf ist jedes Mal wieder eingesaut wenn man ihn reinpackt. Ärgerlich für ein Anstich schönes und nicht ganz günstiges TeilNachbearbeitung am 16.10.nach Kontakt zu Sirui über die homepage wurde mir von Sirui Deutschland in Berlin angeboten den Kopf zu reinigen und das verdreckte Innenleben der Tasche zu tauschen. Also habe ich den Kopf an eine angegeben Adresse geschickt. Laut DHL Tracking konnte das Paket nicht zugestellt werden und lag eine Woche zur Abholung aus, wurde nicht abgeholt und wird jetzt (hoffentlich) wieder an mich zurück geschickt. Weitere Mails an Sirui blieben ohne Antwort. Kontakt per Telefon nicht möglich. Bin gespannt wann ich den Kopf wiedersehe, unterm Sprich eine Vergeudung von meiner Zeit / Geld und bestimmt mein letztes Produkt von Sirui

Das Siri Gimbal nutze ich für meine Canon 7D mit einem Sigma 150-600 Objektiv. In der Wildlife Fotografie unverzichtbar. Alle Funktionen sind bestens ohne Haken einsetzbar! Die Schwenkfunktionen nach oben und zur Seite funktionieren klasse und sind leicht zu bedienen. Ein unverzichtbarer Helfer für schwere Objektive! Aus meiner Erfahrung kann ich es nur empfehlen

Relativ großer und leichter Stativkopf auf dem mein 300/2,8 fast ein wenig zierlich wirkt. Bei Verwendung langer Brennweiten liegen die Vorteile dieser Bauart gegenüber einem Kugelkopf klar auf der Hand, müssen aber auch teuer erkauft werden.Das Gerät entspricht den Erwartungen, ist hochwertig und passgenau verarbeitet, die Lager laufen butterweich. Sämtliche Skalen und Verstellmöglichkeiten sind übersichtlich und gut zu handhaben, auch mit Handschuhen.Die große, Arca-Swiss kompatible, Schnellwechselplatte fügt sich wie aus einem Guss unter die Stativschelle und ist kein Vergleich zum 200PL-System von Manfrotto, mit dem ich zuvor meine Ausrüstung traktiert habe.Ich bin, nachdem ich aufgehört habe über den Preis nachzudenken, nur noch begeistert. Klare Kaufempfehlung.

Ich habe wirklich lange überlegt, ob ich den SIRUI PH-20 kaufen sollte, wo es doch zur Zeit ähnliche Köpfeauch für die Hälfte des Geldes gibt.Dieser hier ist aber wirklich extrem leicht und hat eine Traglast von 20kg !!Alle anderen Köpfe die ich gefunden hatte, waren mit Traglasten von 7kg bis 10kg angegeben.Und da man so einen Kopf sicherlich nicht jeden Tag kauft und auch etwas vorausschauender planen sollte,habe ich mich doch für den PH-20 entschieden.Und das was man hier für sein Geld bekommt, ist mehr als ich erwartet hatte!Ein wirklich sehr leichter Carbon-Kopf, der in Sachen Stabilität wirklich einen extrem guten Eindruck macht.Alles ist perfekt sauber verarbeitet und aus hochwertigen Materialien.Kein Spiel in Lagern und Gelenken…einfach perfekt, so wie man sich das vorstellt.Ich hätte, trotz des hohen Preises, nicht solch eine Qualität erwartet.In Verbindung mit dem SIRUI M-3204 Carbon Stativ einfach genial.Alles sehr leicht und handlich und super stabil, so macht fotografieren Spaß und genau so soll es sein.Von mir somit volle 5 Sterne…..hätte auch noch einen 6. Stern gegeben, wenn vorhanden.Der Kopf hat wie gesagt seinen Preis, ist aber auch jeden Cent wert!Und somit klare Kaufempfehlung, da hat man was für's Leben!

... allerdings zu einem stolzen Preis.Tragt meine Kamera Canon D5 Mark II mit Canon EF 70-200mm 1:2,8L IS II USM Objektiv spielend und leichtgängig, Nutze es auch als Nadalpunktadapter in Verbindung mit einer NovolexWinkelschiene auf einem Sirui M-3204 Dreibeinstativ. Mit dieser Verbindung lassen sich wirklich super Kugelpanoramen herstellen.Kamera hier D5 Mark II mit Tokina 16-26 2.8.Einziger Minuspunkt ist eine fehende Wasserwaage sonst wäre es "perfekt"
