I’ve skated inline for most of my life and have been in Rollerblade Twisters for like 15 years, so this review is basically an objective comparison between the Lightning and Twister skates. The boot and liner are what make the Lightning so impressive. Insanely comfortable skates. Quite a bit wider than Twisters, especially in the toe box. I was a little worried this would result in a less responsive fit, but I was wrong. They are every bit as responsive as Twister while being more comfortable. They are also better ventilated than the Twister (your feet are still gonna get hot sweaty, and smelly). I thought the memory buckle system was just a gimmicky set of buzz words to make the product sound more advanced, but these buckles are sweet and they really are quite a bit faster than traditional buckles. Once you have the length dialed in, you no longer need to adjust , and can just hook it and go. Laces go all the way up the liner.Frame is mounted to aluminum blocks, not to the boot, just like the Twister. Frame is adjustable, just like the Twister. The wheels and bearings are simply not as good as Twister’s Hydrogen wheels & ILQ9 bearings, BUT this skate is $120 cheaper than Twister. There’s no doubt that Lightning is the best skate available in terms of value per dollar spent. A new skater could get in at the $200 price point, then eventually upgrade to the 80mm Hydrogen SE wheels when they are ready to.You absolutely cannot go wrong with Rollerblade Lightning (or Twisters lol)!

Absolutely amazing set of blades! I couldn’t be happier! They are made with very high quality materials and for anyone with sized 14 mens (wide) feet, these fit comfortably well!

I own several different brands and types of inline skates but these have quickly and easily become my favorite, hard boot is great and allows you to really control the edges while the memory buckles help by not needing to muck around with it every time you want to find the right comfort level. Easy to carve and even comes with a brake (not that you need it, but good for beginners). Would recommend to anyone wanting to start out.
