This is the perfect solution for holding in place with no slip plumbing fittings and parts. We had used a standard vise in our shop for years with the risk of things slipping and injury. Rigid is more expensive then other brands but you know with Rigid, you have a tool for life!

It will work fine now. I built a stand for it out of two pieces of 3//4" plate and 6" pipe and bolted it to the concrete. When I started to bolt it to the 3/4" plate I found out the bottom of the vice was not flat. So I had to machine it flat. It is a nice very sturdy vice but be sure to check the flatness of it before you try to bolt it to a table. Or you might break the cast iron it's made of.

Rigid produces high quality, good value products. This vise is used every day for most of the day and is our second vise due to increased production.
