Selten so von einer Alternative zum CAT begeistert gewesen. Ja die Anwendung muss geübt werden, aber das gilt für jedes Mittel. Auch wenn die Wiederverwendbarkeit bei Blutungsstillern eher vernachlässigbar ist, gil das nur bei der realen Anwendung. Über kann man mit den gängigen Produkten, die meist mit Klett arbeiten, nur begrenzt oft. Mit der Ratte, hätte ich kein Problem, im Ernstfall meinen Trainer zu benutzen. Das Teil kann das ab.

After reading a ton of reviews, it looks like RATS is not a valid tourniquet. I am upset that I've purchased these instead of a SOFT-T or a CAT but I'm now replacing everything in my kits to a CAT since those have been tested and work in the battlefield.I have no doubt that the RATS will work as well as a belt in an emergent situation, but I think that it will cause the patient a lot of pain in the process.

Product is great. The RATS is fast to deploy and easy. For a bigger guy, it might take two to properly tourniquet a leg. I have oen with me at all times, the product is worth five stars. I give them four stars because this is one of those companies that will bug the hell out of you with emails after the sale.

R.A.T.S. Tourniquet System (ASIN B01KINMKGU)This product performs as described.The R.A.T.S. tourniquet system performs as described in a controlled environment. Though I cannot speak to its performance under a high-stress scenario, it appears that it will. The rubber-core, nylon sheath material appears to be durable and the locking mechanism appears to effectively pair and hold tightly.Deployment of the tourniquet is simple. When considering a potentially critical scenario, the simple application should be a benefit. Though a more traditional tourniquet is not cumbersome in itself, the R.A.T.S. tourniquet is simpler, none the less.For an everyday carry, as it applies to a civilian, is workable. This tourniquet can be wrapped and stuffed into a pocket, however its presence is noticeable in terms of feel and pocket space. In this respect, a traditional tourniquet may work better, as it can be folded to be flat. Personally, this is a non-issue for me. As for the price point, it is very cost effective. If cost is a concern, I would recommend the R.A.T.S. tourniquet as it appears it can be relied upon at a lower price when compared to proven traditional tourniquets such as ITS Tactical. Needless to say, the ITS Tactical tourniquet is also a reliable option; I am simply using it as a cost comparison.
