Die verwendete Split RIAA Entzerrung erlaubt eine akkurate Umsetzung der RIAA Entzerrungskurve, eine Luxuseigenschaft die viele andere Phono Vorverstärker nicht aufweisen.

I purchased a Pro-Ject Debut Carbon Evo and Klipsch The Fives powered speakers a few months back. I am very pleased with these items but felt like the sound was a bit flat. The speakers sounded great when playing through Bluetooth, but the sound directly from the turntable (which does not have a built-in preamp) was flat. The product information sheet on the turntable tells you that a preamp is needed, but I thought I could get by with just powered speakers. And the sound was okay, but when I installed the Pro-Ject Phono S2 Ultra preamp and the sound from the turntable is absolutely amazing. All the highs and lows come through brilliantly and help the turntable turn out its full sound potential. My 50 year old vinyl collection sounds as good as, if not better, than when I first played these records. The Pro-Ject Phono S2 Ultra preamp is a great “sound” investment.

Rispetto alla versione base, questo Ultra è fatto con componenti discreti e non con dispositivi integrati, senza amplificatori operazionali e con ottima qualità progettuale e costruttiva. La differenza a mio avviso si sente eccome, soprattutto nella pulizia del suono, nel silenzio di fondo e nella miglior separazione tra i canali.

Not being a serious audiophile, I wasn't sure if I would be able to hear a difference over the built-in phono input of my Yamaha HTR6290 receiver. However, I can say that after getting this, there is a massive improvement. I think it is well worth the money. The low-end boost compared to the built-in phono input is huge. The option to increase the gain helped a lot too. Project Debut Carbon turntable, ortofon 2m blue cartridge, Paradigm Reference Studio 100 speakers.

Der Preamp ist sehr wertig nur dieser hatte einen Komplettausfall vom linken Kanal. Gerät wurde durch den Servicepartner von Pro-Ject ausgetauscht. Jetzt bin ich sehr zufrieden.

I chose this model because of a few reasons.Firstly it is well constructed and looking at the specs it has incredibly low distortion levels. It’s circuits are fully discrete high grade components and it’s a dual mono construction. These features can only be a good thing and are sure signs of good design and construction.Secondly it’s fully compatible with MM or MC so my cartridge choices are not limited in the future. This is also helped by the fact that the impedance, capacitance and gain can be adjusted by means of a series of dip switches on the underside of the unit. This allows the pre amp to be electrically matched to your cartridge choice. This will result in optimal results from your vinyl playback.Lastly it’s a made in Europe component as all of Pro-ject’s equipment is.In use this a very quite phono stage with regards to unwanted noise. I’ve set the impedance, capacitance and gain to match my cartridge and the results are very clear sounding records with no audible hum, even at reasonably high volume levels on my amplifier noise and hum is never heard beneath the music.The incredibly low distortion figures and accurate RIAA response mean that this component will not impart it’s own characteristics to the sound. What you hear is your cartridges interpretation of the record. This is a very good pre amp.Another nice feature to note is the inclusion of a subsonic filter to get rid of speaker cone flutter with warped records, or just to get rid of really low rumble. It’s not something I’ve felt the need to use yet, but it’s nice to know it is there should it be needed - as most modern vinyl playback equipment seems to dispense with this. I think it’s nice to have it included, once upon a time it was a standard feature on equipment so nice to see it here. The only thing that would have been better would have been to put this switch on the front rather then the rear. It’s not a massive issue as it’s easy reach the rear with your index finger (oo - er), but you can’t see at a glance if subsonic is activated or not.The unit is very compact and easy to find space for it’s footprint. It even lights up blue the same as my NAD integrated amplifier which is nice. All in all I’m happy with it and wouldn’t hesitate in recommending it.

Set-up: Pro-ject X1, Yamaha R-S700, Elac Debut Reference TowersDieses kleine Kunstwerk ist wirklich sein Geld Wert! Im Gegensatz zu der integrierten phono stufe in meinem Yamaha Verstärker (welche wirklich nicht schlecht ist), holt die PJ Phono Box deutlich mehr Detail raus. Der Sound ist aufgeräumter, klarer und im gesamten Frequenzspektrum präziser, druckvoller und präsentiert eine weitere "Bühne".. man hat das Gefühl, das hier alles raus geholt wird, was der Tonabnehmer und Plattenspieler an Potential zur Verfügung stellt, ohne großartig etwas davon zu Beeinflussen.. Neutral im besten Sinne!Verarbeitung ist ebenfalls super, nur das Netzteil wirkt etwas.. naja.. zweckmäßig. Verdient trotzdem seine 5 Sterne.

Mit der Pro-Ject Phono Box S2 Ultra, (Diskrete MM/MC Phono Vorstufe) und der Verkabelung von Pro-Ject mit dem Plattenspieler Pro-Ject Debut Pro mit Anschluss an Pioneer AV Receiver wurde hervorragende Klangqualität erreicht.

Extrem lautes Brummen trotz angeschlossenen Massekabels, ohne Masse brummt es noch lauter! Originalnetzteil u. hochwertigeres Netzteil(welches ich schon seit zweieinhalb für die Phono Box S2 verwende, u. das völlig brummfrei!) ausprobiert, Brummen bleibt gleich, liegt also nicht am Netzteil!Desweiteren zeigte ein intensiver Hörvergleich (zweimal das gleiche Lied digitalisiert, mit Phono Box S2 u. mit S2 Ultra) absolut keinen hörbaren Unterschied im Klang u. mein Gehör funzt noch sehr gut!Mal wieder ein "Montagsprodukt"??? Liest man ja in letzter Zeit öfter! Gerät geht zurück mit Erstattung des Kaufpreises. Sobald das Geld erstattet ist, versuche ich 's nochmal. Jeder hat ne zweite Chance verdient.Wenns dann nochmal in die Hose geht, sollten Pro-Ject mal über ihre Qualitätskontrolle nachdenken!Also toi toi toi!!!

Ich kaufe gern bei, Amazon nicht zu Letzt wegen den Kommentaren.Auch dieses Mal, hatte mir doch ein Goldring 2500 zugelegt und wollt einfach, den von meinem Verstärker gegebenen Phonoverstärker eine Alternative biete.Das hier von jedem Käufer angesprochene Problem mit dem Netzteil dachte ich erledigt zu haben als ich gleich Eins für 20 Euro dazu bestellte.Aber was soll ich sagen, das originale Netzteil ging ja noch, aber das dazugekaufte verringerte den Störabstand gegen null. Frustriert suchte ich die Ursache und merkte ein Schaltnetzteil (zwecks Stromspar-Wahnsinns gibt es gar keine Anderen mehr!!)So dachte ich bei mir müsste, man selbst bauen.Als ich dann so in meinen Aufzeichnungen nach Schaltplan und Ähnlichen suchte kam mir der Gedanken, das Vorverstärker Strom Problem ist eigentlich von Marantz vor Jahren schon mit Batterien erledigt wurden.So ging ich auf Suche und fand das Batterie Netzteil von Pro-Ject Accu Box S2 .Was soll ich sagen? Ich bin begeistert diesen zwei Geräte zaubern nun ein Klang in die Bude das es ein Freude ist.
