We constantly get silt in our well water, even after 50 years, so we have a double cartridge filter on the water tank outlet.

It looks like a good filter but doesn't fit my canister filter. The filter's length is longer than the internal high of the canister filter. After installation, the pleats are twisted.

These seem to be about a quarter-inch too tall. As you screw your filter housing closed, you can see the cartridge crush and twist and deform. I assume it's still working to some extent, but none of the other filter cartridges I've ever used have done this.
