I thought this looked like a fun project my daughter and I could do together. It is absolutely not something I would recommend for any age.First of all, I expected thin metal pieces, but this is like thick foil, and all the pieces have to be sort of snipped out. You will need a set of jewelry tools that are not included. A magnifier would also be helpful, because trying to put little tabs into even smaller slots was challenging. Had this been something I purchased, I would have returned it after opening the box. However, since I received this product for my honest review, I will proceed to give more detail. This thing is extremely small. I did not expect it to be big, but trying to assemble the pieces is tedious and rather difficult due to how tiny it is. My fingers are long and fairly thin, and I found it hard to manage. Someone with shorter and fatter fingers would find it nearly impossible. I included photos with a ruler to show the accurate size (sorry to my non USA friends - it’s not in metric). Both step one and step two call for 20 pieces to make. It took me well over 15 minutes each just to punch out the pieces and assemble one. Step 3 called for 6 pieces, and the instructions aren’t in the best order. It took me at least 25 minutes for the one I assembled. I probably would have gotten a little faster if had continued on, but this is where I called it quits. There are a total of 12 steps and this would take several hours to complete. The box shows the difficulty as being 4/7 - I would hate to see what a level 7 is…

I’m not sure what I was expecting but it wasn’t this. As you can see from the photos, the kit is presented in a nice box, with almost everything required inside. The box states that the project is for 16+ years, which I’d say is about right. The difficulty level is 4/7 and is supposed to take 4-8 hours to complete. Personally, I think it’s going to be a labour of love and will probably take me considerably longer than that.Having removed a half sheet of metallic parts from the bag, I discovered that it was very difficult to replace since the metal kept bending. I’d definitely recommend leaving everything alone and studying the instructions before opening anything else. Given how flexible the metal is, you really don’t want to be handling it too much. I’m disappointed that no tools are included and I suppose I’ll have to buy the recommended ones, which makes this an expensive item. There’s no doubt that the finished project will look amazing if it looks like the photo on the box but I’m not entirely sure that it’s worth £49.99. Most of the parts can be mass produced. However, the quality of the written instructions, which are supported by diagrams, is excellent. Would I pay £49.99 for this? Probably not but I’m looking forward to making it.
