This case will protect my 60D, 7D and 5D bodies. 70-200 2.8, 24-105 4.0, 300 4.0, 100 macro,14mm wide, 10-22 EF-S, 30 Sigma lenses and 600EX-RT flash. With all that gear the case isn't light. But I didn't byuy it for hiking. The foam was easy to setup. One of the reviews here suggested using tooth picks to mark the edges of each item. That worked a treat. In bright yellow there is no problem finding it. This is my second Pelican case. The first one is bolted to a big BMW dual sport motorcycle. That will tell you something about the strength of these cases!Update Feb. 16, 2018I love the case. After 3 years it still looks and works like new. But I needed more space inside to add a couple film cameras and lenses. So just bought the Pelican™ 1605 Padded Divider Set and Top Organizer. The divider set makes better use of space than is practical with the pick and pluck foam that I bought originally.And the case bolted to my BMW? I don’t ride anywhere without it behind me. Multi tools, first aid kits, snacks, water bottles, duct tape, safety wire ... well you get the idea. Every now and then I have to open it up to take inventory. Couple times I have found things in there I lost months ago.
